Happy Raksha Bandhan!

Hi dear mylotters. It is almost 1 PM in my country. It was sunny till now, but suddenly dark clouds came from the north with high winds. So, the weather cooled down a bit.  Yesterday I couldn't come here as I was absorbed in Frankenstein. So far, I found the book very unique and awesome. I'll soon share it with you guys. Today I woke up at 5 AM. Took a bath, dressed well and went to the Puja room (room for worshipping God). Today is the festival of Raksha Bandhan in which sisters tie a sacred red thread (aka rakhi) to her brother(s). The brother in return gives a gift to his sister(s).  I also tied a rakhi to my elder cousin brother, who was the only one to come this year. He gave me some sweets, chocolates, a kurti (a type of south asian garment) and some money. After that we had lunch. Today I made kheer specially for my brother. We also had rice, dal, potato and cauliflower curry, tomato chutney, pineapple chutney (my brother's fav.) and chicken curry.  The other cousins are either busy with college exams or live very far away from us. Those brothers always join a video conference and end up giving me and my other cousin sisters a gift via amazon. However I am yet to receive the packages (delayed because of bad weather in other parts of the country). And so, I am finally here, writing something. It was a busy day but I enjoyed it. How is your day going? P. S.1- Picture from Pinterest of Rakhi. P. S.2- The sun broke out again. Looks like the clouds will have to leave now.

The weather here is much like yours. The downpours come in the afternoons. Interesting festival of sisters and brothers. I like the sibling interaction of giving. Nice your relatives, no matter the distance, keep in touch.

@m_audrey6788 Yes. I love rain as long as it is within limits.....or you can say as long as the roads are not flooded with water. What about you?
