Since we do not have covid vaccine here for the younger ones, I am thinking of getting my kids flu shots. Actually we normally have flu shots every year but since the pandemic, we do not let the kids go out of the house as much as possible. This delta variants and some new variants is scaring me more than last year. The positive cases now consist mostly of those unvaccinated and the younger age group. Both my kids are in that category. So I am looking for s clinic that do home service for flu shots. Do you think this will help?

Flu shot would help in the sense that, if you get Covid, it would be less severe.

@rakski Our doctors are suggesting the flu shot for all those under the age of 16, as the Covid vaccine is not suggested before the age of 16.

I think it will help,However, from last year onwards,we always had face mask on our face,it stop the flu from spreading among crowd. So people seldom catch flu here.I don't know whether this condition can be thought as a upside of pandemic.

@rakski ,no worries, just bypass the crowd. if you have to take kids to some public sites, keeping mask on the face is alright.just alert of virus when go out.wish all the best.

I think that could also help but it will only lessen the symptoms but when covid is involved in the infection they might still affect your kids. But it is good that if they are hit with the flu virus they will not be affected and immuned from getting them.

@rakski yes at least they are partly protected from getting other diseases for now. But if we are talking about Covid they still have to be careful since they are not protected from them at all.

as long as it will help is better, right than doing nothing and wait for something to happen that right now is not possible.

Studies have shown that many of the people who got flu shots didn't get severe COVID symptoms. You can still get infected with COVID, but you are less likely to get severe symptoms.

It's hard to say. I haven't seen the shots ready here. It's all about covid. I don't get the flu shot. I've been vaccinated for covid and had covid. I think with wearing masks, it's cut down the flu a lot.

The kids normally have flu vaccines yearly here. We stopped because of covid since the kids cannot get out. They are confined to the house only but with this delta variants, it is getting scary

@rakski It's so scary and so questionable why it's so different than the other one. It's mutating often. I get afraid to go out but so tired of being home all the time.

Flu shots are something our entire family get yearly, but they won’t protect against covid or variants. I’m hoping for an approved covid vaccine for our 11 year old grandson.

Same with our family. I was just thinking that flu shots of course will not really do a lot for covid but at least lessen the severity if one gets infected. We do no have vaccine yet here for 17 and below that is why I am getting crazy ahaha

@DianneN Yes, I read it at cdc website. But like my cardio said, he advised me to have pneumococcal vaccine since covid patients tend to get pneumonia too and since they are respiratory diseases. by having vaccinated, it might lessen the severity of the disease when it hit you.

@rakski Flu shots help prevent getting certain strains of the flu. Covid is a different virus. I’d do anything to help. I totally understand.

I just thought of it recently when the delta variants surfaces and I heard the news that pediatric cases are now infected with this variants. It worries me for my kids since we do not have available vaccine yet for 17 years old and below so I am looking of options to protect them more
