The view from my picnic table in Montana

As many of you know, I just returned from a week-long trip to Montana. It is a mountain state that borders Canada in the Western United States.
One of my relaxing activities up there is to sit on my picnic table, play guitar, and listen to the wind through the pine trees.
Here is a picture of the view from the picnic table. I had already removed some maple tree branches from my roof and cut them into firewood.
The small wood pile you see is a mixture of old cabin parts, maple branches from my roof, and Douglas fir trees that had suffered from pine beetle and were taken down.
I hope you can feel the sense of relaxation I get when I am up there.

@DaddyEvil...what did I tell ya...he gonna ask me to drag that lumber and turn it into firewood...I would be his cheap labor. That is why Montana trip is dangerous.

@TheSojourner If I am the guest, he ought to do the man's job as well as the "woman's work"..Don't you think?

@TheSojourner I am the Vampire Queen. Princess does not have powers. Queens are waited upon because they have powers. Evil Grin.
Kidding... seriously...I would not know where you keep what. I have never prepared firewood. I am not familiar with your brands. So I might end up spending loads of time identifying which one is coffee and which one is black pepper.
I do not like people in my kitchen. Based on that I would be inclined to presume others feel the same too. Perspective.

@TheHorse It is very calming. And one can easily imagine Bigfoot in the trees.

@xander6464 I listen carefully as I go to sleep at night. It's very quiet up there. Mostly I hear my pet mice probably making more pet mice. They don't bother me.

I hope you had a great time, pony.
But just think of all the "free" labor you could have gotten from vanny if you'd taken her with you. (Just don't let her cook and you'd... probably... even make it back home, too... )

@TheHorse No, I can't imagine that. Just wave the "big war ax" at her and she'll disappear... maybe into the cabin to clean/cook something... or into the woods, running as fast as her little legs can carry her.
OMG! I just got a mental image of vanny running and screaming about you trying to chop her up...

@DaddyEvil Reminds me of the Harold's Chicken Shack electric sign from Chicago. I wonder if I can find it.

@asianlady I let it sit in the rain so the wood will expand and the head won't fly off.

@TheHorse — oh, boy, another Go Fund Yourself account to set up, for the crop losses.
Too bad Frank’s long gone, or you could ask him the secret to his success……

I enjoyed my time (when I was in school down there) in Santa Barbara. After reading articles (what Grad Students do), I would take a walk on the beach. Sometimes I would just sit in the sand and watch (and listen to) the waves come in.

I know nothing about Canada, but I would respond to something you had mentioned that is guitar. I love playing the guitar lol, but I can imagine having a trip like that is bring me back to nature. I feel the sense of your relaxation and especially the sound of the wind blow while playing the guitar. Cool
