A late start to day, no rush, yummy Saturday brunch

Good afternoon from this side of the planet It's 1 PM and we just finished our Saturday brunch. You can see the yummy brunch in the picture. It was moong lentils and oats chilka( pancakes), coriander and mint chutney ( green colour sauce), bengal gram and peanut chutney( brown colour sauce in picture) and a delicious curry of potatoes and peas.. Quite filling, yummy and healthy.
The day started late around 9 PM. I finished one round of laundry along with making this brunch. Now the clothes are in shaded gazebo. The breeze might help to dry it. Clouds are there but no sign of either rain or the sun.
We just had a piece of toast and butter with our morning tea to keep us full till this brunch
Now I plan to sit with my laptop and do some bit of school homework, making worksheets and finding some good art work to include in the artwork class. And I will start with that after a bit of mylotting
And I will keep coming here in between that to refresh my mind. My elder daughter is busy with her school till 3 PM, younger one is busy doing the next exercise of Statistics sitting next to me and husband is busy with one carpentry project. One of his friend's five year old daughter has demanded a gift from his carpentry skill. Her birthday is on 7 September and so he wants to finish it soon and send it to her.
So, I should get busy doing my things for the next two hours
Enjoy mylotting. I am going to catch up with discussions here before moving to notifications. Happy weekend

Hey. Your brunch was very tough to make dear. Atleast it would be so to me. Did you get tired?
It looks very tasty though.
Btw, when your husband's carpentry work for the little girl finishes, share it with us. What is the work?
And did you do any new art work?

Not tough. I had made the chutneys on Thursday. I make it twice a week to go with all the breakfast items. Moong dal and oats were pre soaked and grinded. So it was quick. Well, dosa, idli and chilka are common in my house and I find them convenient.
I will share the picture of his project once it is over.
I am yet to start with artwork. One person wants Ganesha for his new office. So, I might start with that tonight. I first need to finish the worksheets for my students for coming two weeks.

@Anqaya I did that. I plan for a week and do all grinding etc once or twice a week. Now, I will take break from cooking dinner. Maggie would be good. I need some rest on weekends.

@arunima25 Oh. That's why. Who soaked and blended them. If it was me, I had to do everything.
Ok I'll be waiting. Wow. You're a really busy girl. So much to do. Will be waiting for your Ganesha too.

Glad you showed a picture, you put it like that, makes it look way more fillling. I was like how do they live on toast and know said brunch is coming up but toast never fills me up.

We rarely eat toast, only when we miss cooking breakfast. I just keep breads in fridge so that they come handy during such situations.

The Brunch above looks both delicious and healthy. I think you wanted to type "Chilla" but instead typed "Chilka".
Anyways that happens!
Today I am using the Janmasthami Holiday - a rare day of Holiday where I work to spend some time here on Mylot and on FC as well.
Kids' studies is ongoing and well they need to be guided from time to time.
I am hoping for a relaxed holiday today before the rough and tumble of the daily life world takes over from Tomorrow.
Have a blessed time ahead today!

We call them chilka or chilla, it's the same. And yes, it is delicious as well as healthy. It's holiday for me and my younger daughter. My husband and elder one got no holiday. I found out late that it was a holiday for janamashtami and was super happy
Do you do anything special on this day?

It's a big soggy , so I add a handful of sooji so that it comes out neat from the pan.
My husband is passionate about carpentry. He has a small mobile workshop on our terrace. He makes few things from time to time.

Here temples are still not open. It would be nice to visit somewhere after a long time. And temple visit always gives that peace of mind.

I was busy but kept it off from chores. I am happy to finish enough worksheets for the next two weeks and that's a great accomplishment for today. We had Maggie for dinner as I was in a mood to finish my worksheets and no cooking.
Weekends are for family. Though every day my family is the priority.

I am a vegetarian, not vegan. I take milk and milk products and also animal products like honey.
You don't need to totally turn into vegan. Maybe you can start adding more veggies and reducing the amount of meat.

@Vree0937 Many people are turning to vegans. I am not ready for it. Milk and milk products are important part of my diet. I am happy being vegetarian.
There are many guides available online to help you with your journey to turn to vegan.

@arunima25 i already delete all meats in my meals. I do still take milk and milk products and honey too. I still want to be a vegan though, just one step at a time. You're right, start from vegetarian first
