Stuffed Mussels is a special evening snack of North Kerala. It's made of raw rice, grated coconut, shallots and spices, steamed and fried. It has a rich flavor and it's own distinguished taste.

That looks good but the blue mussel is from the ocean. I can't eat that. I'm allergic to seafood.

@FaruMesh I had to stop eating seafood about twenty years ago. I LOVED scallops! And now can't have any.

@allknowing The one without shell are more tasty, it's preparation has a slight difference than the one with the shell. This is how it looks with the shell.

Mike would like that as he loves mussels, But there wouldn't be any coconut in it as he isn't a fan. Glad you enjoyed them.

We only add paste of coconut for the flavor, this is for the stuffed mussels without the shell. We can also make it without adding coconut paste and that would be with the shell.

Thanks Faru mesh the food is wonderful. I stayed in house boat in Allepey 3 years back. A red chicken curry was served with rice which was brilliant. Also the caramel fish curry in lunch was wonderful.
