There is aroma of turmeric leaves permeating. This snack is made once a year. Rice is ground to a paste and applied to the leaves. Coconut and jaggery mixture is used as stuffing. It is then steamed. As I am positing I am getting the aroma What you see in the image we had made them last year

Turmeric powder is produced from rhizomes that the plants have and the plants do have leaves.

Perhaps I'm foolish in asking but please enlighten me. If I understand correctly turmeric leaves are being used as cover . Can they be eaten with the stuffing? I have a lot of these leaves in our land but we have never used the leaves.
