I’ve been answering notifications from you since I signed on. It’s been back and forth and back and forth, and I haven’t had a chance to write a discussion of my own - as usual
Just wanted to discuss the fact that I had a late start here today. Such an insightful comment! Lol!
Hubs went out to breakfast with his friend. I played pickle ball and came home to shower before going out to lunch with two friends. The cleaning lady answered our phone while we were out, and left a number for hubs to return.
It was Yale University calling! They want him as a guest speaker regarding special education and it’s impact on children, teachers, and parents in today’s world. He spoke with a few people including the provost and will let them know next week if they agree to a few of his terms. lol
The fee they will pay him for a 30 minute talk is unbelievable and about a year’s worth of me teaching.. So proud of him! He’s a Professor Emeritus and retired.
Meanwhile, our Friday date night is happening right now. Celebrating Yale University and hubs! The photo is of my delicious martini and what’s left of it after I spilled some. It’s definitely not soup.

That's awesome! I think friend's father was in involved in tracking adults who were de institutionalized for Harvard many years ago.Not sure he ever got to be a guest speaker though. The drink's not too shabby either.

Thanks! I’m very proud of hubs and how though of he is in the field. He’s turned down lots of teaching and lecturing since he retired, but does consult. This he just can’t pass up.
Oh, he makes the best martinis ever! If you are ever up this way, you can have as many as you like

That shows how little you were paid when you were teaching

Sorry to hear you spilled our drink but at least you have some left and there is always more once that one is gone.

Aside from being taught to respect teachers from my parents I have never forgotten Mrs. Levy who changed the way I saw myself when I was 11 years--I honestly don't think teachers how much of an influence they are--I am so glad I said Thank You to Mrs. Levy for the next 22 years every year!

That looks like soup to me! haha
Congrats to your husband on the speaking gig. Even though I retired from the city last year, I still get invited each semester by the University of Florida to be a guest lecturer. I enjoy it immensely. I should have been a professor! lol

@DianneN It's different subjects/classes each semester, but all in the College of Health and Human Performance. Most of my lectures deal with public infrastructure, management/leadership, or programming.

@moffittjc That’s awesome! One of the FL universities tried to recruit my husband to teach a class, but he told them no way. He doesn’t mind consulting or lecturing, but only if they pay him well.

That is very good news for your husband.
The martini looks good. I haven't had one in a long while; I think the last one was probably a maple martini. I believe that maple syrup works in pretty much anything-- except for lemonade .

@DianneN Spend some time in Vermont, and next thing you know you're putting maple syrup in everything.
