We spent the night with Vince’s brother and attended a quiz night which was held to raise funds for his daughter’s concert band. We are not good at quiz nights but went along anyway. Luckily, we had a couple of smart people on our table and we actually won so we shared in a whole heap of prizes. Never have I been given so much for doing so little.
One of the fun games between the rounds of questions was to see which table could build the highest ‘tower’ just using items which were on the table. In the photo, you can see our creation which turned out to be the highest so we got a couple of extra points for that.
There was also a competition to see whose paper aeroplane could travel the furthest. We went back to my BIL’s place around 10.30pm and stayed up talking till 2.00 am. We ended up drinking Cointreau so I think a nap will be called for soon.

@JudyEv I went to a quiz at a neighbouring church a while ago and sat silent all night, unable to contribute. Very, very highbrow congregation, who are a major part of irish intelligentsia. Delightful people, very down to earth and friendly but they know everything about everything. And they take knowledge very seriously, but even though I made no contribution my table won.

Sounds like a really fun night. Glad you explained the picture. I thought maybe someone was a bit tipsy and amusing themselves
