This is what I see...

... every day. The mountain is full of houses. The locals call it the Christmas Mountain because houses' lights sparkle brightly at night. Basically, it is always Christmas season feeling every night. It is like in Santorini, Greece. What do you see at your place every day?

It seems pretty easy to me.... tell people to get our of your sightline and hide their houses because you're tired of seeing them. There, now your problem is taken care of. You're welcome. I see trees and grass outside my windows. I have to go outside to see anything else... Outside my front door. Photo is mine.

I can see your neighbor, too. Did he keep all his horses neighing now?

@DaddyEvil That's an interesting neighborhood. Did you call the policemen?

@DaddyEvil That's great! The nearest police precinct is about 5 minutes to go here in the neighborhood. It means we are safe having them in our neighborhood.

Those houses remind me of Valparaiso in Chile...

@Shavkat Yes, they are. The difference is that the houses there are very colorful...

So sad to see the mountain turned into a village filled with concrete houses. That should have been filled with pine trees. The most that could be built are log cabins distant from the other. Yet, the fact that the people were permitted to construct their abodes up there means something is anomalous somewhere in the local government. The city should really be rehabilitated before real disasters like earthquake cause landslides.

I agree with that. The highlanders have their ways to approve to build their houses.

Only a few trees, but they seem not scared of possible landslides. Since birth, I have not heard of any situation that happened before.

The people in the building next to me live upstairs, and they have Christmas-type lights on the stairway. I can see them out the window.

@Shavkat No, I am on the ground floor. :) I guess that they could see me if I had lights on and the blinds open.

One of my neighbors who used to hire a decorator has turned minimalist. The porch has only one Christmas icon.

I guess I am like your neighbor. I tend not to make things complicated as a minimalist.

@Shavkat I have yet to put up our Christmas decorations. What's important is we have the.nativity set all year round.

This is a hill in Baguio. I hope the place is landslide-proof. It is an awesome sight to behold at night, indeed. I miss this place where I went to college. I imagine it is chilly there already especially during February. I couldn't stand the cold,brrrr.. Thanks for sharing the beautiful picture.

I think it is a stable place to have these houses. They have been settled here a long time before I was born. February is the coldest month in my city.

Where is this? We do not have houses like that or big mountains/hills here. Just normal little streets

I see fires and stupid people. I just kidding. lots of houses our mountains will look like that one day but such a huge range. They already have houses all over at the bottom that did not used to be there. Its actually bad because so many mud slides when it does rain and fires always a problem. I am not sure what people be thinking, but so far they have been lucky although like 10 years ago 10 houses were destroyed in next town do to mud slides. That is cool they look so pretty at night. Some places you can do that but would not recommend here, but that is me.

It has been in years that they were living here. I haven't heard any bad news about this mountain. I am not sure what would happen in the future. You have a point that they need to stop building houses here.

That's pretty cool! We have similar hills full of houses here in the Bay Area. I see mostly trees when I look out my window.

It is nice that you have this kind of hill with houses there, too.
27 Oct 21
it is not good for nature. In India in Nainital Gangtok Darjeeling there are good hills forests. Just because too many houses were built in last 20 years now the hills are getting too much rain and weather has changed

At some point, it is not a good thing. The ancestors did not think about it. I assumed that the locals continue to build their houses in the mountains.
