Hi guys,
Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. As diwali festival is going to come in few weeks. People start cleaning their houses and making yummy snacks at home.
One such sweet snack called "Gujiya" in marathi and "Ghughra" in gujarati. It's a yummy snack.
My mom made it at home. It's half moon in shape. The outer layer is made from refined wheat flour. The dough is made and small rotis are made of it.
The inside stuffing is of shredded coconut, icing sugar along with some Dryfruits like charoli and raisins.
The stuffing is filled in this small rotis and with the hand it's given a half moon shape. Many people now use ready made moulds and it makes the process easy plus faster.
This ghughra are then fried in ghee on a low flame until it turns slightly brown. It tastes divine.
Share your thoughts about it. Have a good day. Take care!!!

I will be making them next week. I love them. My daughters love it and we make them a few times in a year. Definitely in Holi and Diwali. I remember sharing my gujiya pictures here when I made it last time, a couple of months back

Oh my goodness. It sounds like these are really nice little sweet treats. For me, the raisins would be great for the inside stuffing.

They remind me of pasties in England.
