Changes in the Office

Yay, my first day in the office this year. Yes, almost November.... I love working from home though. This morning, I noticed several good changes in my office building: The waste/garbage needs to be separated now. The cleaning service does not empty the personal bins in each and every office anymore. We need to take our bins to the small kitchen in the floor and are asked to separate general garbage, paper and plastic. I do like this and have heard about this project right before corona started to change everything. I myself do not have a problem with separating my own waste in the office like I do at home anyway. It's also much faster for the cleaning service to only empty the bins in the kitchens. The second change is also very welcome: The horrible, horrible coffee machine in the kitchen is gone. Mind you, some departments have awesome coffee machines with the most delicious creations but our machine from hell had the most horrible coffee I have ever known on earth. I had come to this department only 18 months ago and that coffee machine did not deserve the word "coffee" in its name. I had brought instant cappucchino with me to make some for myself just with hot water. I am beyond glad that this horrible machine is gone. Any news from your side of the computer screen?

That is especially good news about the coffeemaker. Having spent some time working in offices, I am a big believer in access to good coffee. I'm glad, though, that most of my husband's work can be done from home. In theory, that should give him some more time and flexibility. Unfortunately, it generally doesn't work out that way.

I was really lucky, my work life balance is so much better with working from home every single day of the week. It is so much easier...

@stine1online I think that, if a few issues are resolved in terms of our "home" space, he should be able to achieve a better work-life balance.

Hmmm, well I have several things to do today, lets hope they all get done with a mininimum of hassle.. So glad you got a new coffee machine. Some coffee just isn't worth having.

Well, there is no new coffee machine in the office yet but I do hope for a better one the next time I am in the office.

That is great news on both accounts! No big news here. I'm retired so just about every day is the same other than running out to post office, get groceries or pull a shift at the boutique.

I am retired, so it doesn't affect me when they make changes to the office I used to work at.
