In 1956 Elvis was on the US TV show The Ed Sullivan Show for the second time and was presented with a gold record for "Love Me Tender" In 1967 Diana Ross and The Supremes were at number one on the US album chart with their Diana Ross and The Supremes Greatest Hits album In 1972 Stevie Wonder came out with his 15th studio album Talking Book It included the number one hit "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" The song got Wonder his first Grammy Award. The album featured a guest appearance by Jeff Beck on the track "Superstition" The same year The United States Council for World Affairs made the announcement that it was adopting the song "Join Together" by The Who as its official theme tune. In 1973 David Cassidy was at number one on the UK singles chart with 'Daydreamer / The Puppy Song' 'The Puppy Song' was Cassidy's version of the Harry Nilsson song. In 1974 Jamaican reggae artist Ken Boothe was at number one on the UK singles chart with "Everything I Own" a song by David Gates from the group Bread. Boy George was at number one with this song in 1987 in 1978 Nick Gilder was at number one on the US singles chart with "Hot Child In the City" In 1989 Janet Jackson was at number one on the US album chart with Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 It was only one of three albums to produce seven Top Ten US singles. The other two were Thriller by Michael Jackson and Born In the USA by Bruce Springsteen In 1995 Coolio was at number one on the UK singles chart with "Gangsta's Paradise" It was featured in the 1995 movie "Dangerous Minds" starring Michelle Pfeiffer In 2007 X Factor winner Leona Lewis was at number one on the UK singles chart with the first track for her debut album Bleeding Love In 2013 New Zealand singer Lorde was at number one on the UK singles chart with her debut single "Royals" At 16 she is the youngest solo artist to get a UK number one hit
