Thursdays ups and downs

Well hello and happy Thursday! I have had a bit of a frustrating week and I can't wait for it to be over. -A bit frustrated with my manager at my main job, just tired of drama and him treating folks with higher seniority like gods and those with lower seniority...much worse. It's very apparent and very annoying, especially in a government job that is supposed to be fair. Many issues at play here, just tired of the drama. I literally applied for a job in Anarctica (1 year contract job, but still! Ha Ha, you never know). -I *FAILED* a fire department physical test and I am not quite sure where I stand as a result. I made it about 60% through, but it was extremely strenous being that it was "on air" (breathing air out of a cylinder tank, definitely changes how you breathe / how much oxygen you are able to get in - essentially - you never feel like you are getting enough). One of the exercises I was doing, my hands literally seized up and I could no longer grip onto the mallet, also. ALL kinds of problems. ALL of my stairclimbing and jogging did not prepare me to deal with the air situaiton. I am praying they do not just cut me loose and give me some time to re-train and re-try. When I retrain, I will go to the station and be on air and practice some of the events. The captain told me "don't worry, don't worry" but I haven't heard any follow up yet. HA. If I do get canned, it really won't be the end of the world. It has been a wild ride and I've gotten to do a lot of things I haven't ever thought I would. On the down side of working for the FD, however, it's preventing me from getting a second job (that pays GOOD money), and cuts a bit into my sleep and travel/vacation time, keeps me geographically restricted to my city, being an on-call firefighter. I could maybe still get some excitement and be a part-time scheduled EMT somewhere. Not throwing in the towel, just considering all options here. POSITIVE THINGS: + Started doing Christmas shopping and am already about 50% done and just waiting for things to arrive in the mail + Lost 3 pounds so far, have been on a super clean and low calorie diet for the last 4 days or so. Thought it was going to be horrible and I was going to be super hungry - but mostly thanks to Huel (a type of nutritional meal replacement powder that is a bit pricey) - I have been feeling pretty full on a low number of calories. I can't say that about many other protein powders (actually, none to be honest). +Have been not drinking alcohol, which has a good effect on my attitude and life. How is your week going? Hope all is well.

Wow, 3 pounds! That's a lot in just 4 days. How's that super clean diet?

You have had a stressful time for sure. I am curious about the Huel meal replacement. I hope you get some rest and feel better tomorrow.

Good for you on not drinking and losing weight. Hope you can continue them both and get where you want to. Sorry about the fire department thing. Goodluck
