The collage shows where we free-camped last night. The photos are all Vince’s as I don’t have time to download the ones I took. We’re now parked behind a friend’s shed and have power and internet again so here I am.
The place is Greenbushes Pool. Greenbushes started off as a tin-mining town but now is a major world producer of lithium. The little bird is one of the fairy wren family and is a russet-shouldered wren.
Tomorrow we’re taking photos again of the ridden section of a marathon. There are five sections – running, swimming, canoeing, horse-riding and cycling. Some tough people do all sections on their own but others make up teams. It would be a great day.

You are surrounded by some scenic beauty there. That's a lovely bird. Doing all the five sections must be challenging and would require a lot of strength and stamina.
Enjoy your time there

@ihasaquestion Sorry, Vince is my husband. I forget that new people don't know much about us.

@JudyEv If it were a bit warmer and the husband didn't have quite so much work, I'd be tempted to try to get him to go camping since it looks like it's going to be a few more weeks until we can move. It's too late in the season to comfortably do that here, though.

Wow, good you have a place for campsites. I envy people who has a place to go. Here in the Philippines, I'm proud of the beaches and tourists spots that we have. But I'm sad we don't have campsites

We're home again now but I have sore throat and a nasty cough so I'm looking forward to having a couple of easy days.

We free camped once and it was sort of cool because it was near a store that had a porta potty. We wouldn't have done it but the National Park campgrounds were full, and we really wanted to camp..had all are gear and stuff.

The toilets always the thing that makes the decision. It was easy to cope otherwise but having a toilet was great. We do have one in the caravan.
