Dear mylotters,
Today we had visited a supermarket for our monthly shopping. As usual we bought some protein, including eggs, vegetables, fruits and any other monthly need such as soap, floor cleaner, cooking oils, tissue and some others stuffs.
Being in a large household means buy in big quantity will be a saving. These days price increased significantly compare with beginning of the year. We did not realize it increased price as it rising slowly.
Many time we had to choose between buy the brand that we like or change it to more economical brands. If that happen, we just do not know what to choose. We knew our brands well, but change it for economical reason, will that pay off? we just do not want to change then eventually hardly finished it, cos its not suit our taste.
Have you had this kind of things to choose to?
Photo are ice cream, this is one of new brand that come in. Eventually we choose this ice cream as it has more benefits when purchase many :-D Will see in next few days if we like it

When I was growing up my parents did not have a lot of money and the only desserts we would get is if mom baked a cake or cookies. She said it was cheaper to buy the flour, eggs and milk for those desserts instead of buying us candy or ice cream. I do not recall ever wanting her to buy me sweets.

@rebelann Same, my mom is a good cook, so she always cook for us. Or even if we need to buy, then she buy in bulk for some times, so it cheaper than buy in small number. But now she's old, I just dont want her to work a lot, let her enjoy time and shopping :-D

I never look at the price if I want something.

@Vree0937 When you need something there is no point in looking at the price

@allknowing Its so typical man,
I must do that as we buy in large number and price do make differences if you buy 10 pieces compare with 2 pcs - for example

I just live by myself, so it's not as big as a problem for me.

Prices are climbing everywhere. I've run into this before when I've tried to save money. I've learned, it's better to spend extra and stick to what we know will be used, because we can save money elsewhere.

hmm.. thats when we buy another brand of canned sardines. It turn out my family dont like the taste, so eventually we mixed with the usual brand, but still taste different. Eventually we give balance canned to our less fortune neighbour. They said it long time they did not eat canned sardines, so they happy to have them

It is really hard to find bargains now at the groceries.
Why not just buy all of those ice creams?
