Once again, I am happy to be back

I am sure some of you have heard the expression, "when it rains, it pours". I have been having the worst year and cannot wait for it to be over. If anyone follows me, you might have seen I have been missing as I had 2 cataract operations the beginning of the year. I made out great with both of them and my eyesight is great now and I have no problem. Now that everything there is good, I had to have an operation on my leg. The operation went well. I won't know until we get the results back if the they got all the cancer. Talk about shocks. I never knew I had it. I just happened to be at my doctor and asked her what the bump was and she sent me to the specialist. After the shock wore off me, I found out one of my best friends had the same thing and my son did also many years ago. His was on top of his head. He was a big sun lover and was always in the sun. Everyday my husband has to tend to my leg and we have to keep putting petroleum jelly on it so it doesn't dry out. Hopefully, I will be here more often and not get any more bad news or issues. I just hope this year gets over fast and all this will be behind me.

I pray you'll beat this cancer. A friend of mine has been in remission for 17 years so you might also have that luck.

Thank you. I know you are in Texas and I have wondered if you are getting all the people coming into the state from the south. I have thought of you often and how horrible that whole thing is.

You're welcome. I'm pretty sure that a lot of illegals are getting into El Paso simply because their families who are American smuggle them in. I remember in the late 1990s when a lot of Hispanics (Americans) would go to Juarez to visit family then bring back young cousins so they can go to our schools. I'm not sure if that's still going on but it wouldn't surprise me.

@rebelann I see it every day on tv where the people are headed that way with their children. It is just horrible and I feel sorry for what those kids are going through.

Good thing you thought too ask your Dr about the bump. I'm getting my cataracts checked again next week. Last year they weren't bad enough to get them done. So I don't know yet what to expect. I just saw your name elsewhere and had to stop by

@ramapo17 overall I have been well. Busy though since I'm not yet retired and may not be for a couple more years.

@MarshaMusselman You are smart. I know I shouldn't have retired when I did, but it is too late now. If I had lived in a city when I retired I would have had lots to do but I was in the country and not much to do.

I think we wrote to each other a long time ago. I have been off and on here a few times through the years but now that I am home for good and don't go out to work, I have lots of time. I am so happy you wrote to me again. Being off and on here for years, I lost a lot of contacts and addresses. Now, being retired, I have plenty of time. I hope you have been well.

Thanks @GardenGerty. I have learned the meaning of patience. My husband has been so good as he has to wash off my sore leg and put the ointment on it and make sure it is looking good. I am lucky as it doesn't hurt all the time, only once in awhile. We have to keep doing that for another month.

I know, I wasn't ready for this news and quite shocked as I never even thought about this. Now a days there are so many treatments and medicines that I am hoping something will be good for me.

I hope the oncologist got it all. (I think I told you that Melanoma was the first type of cancer I was diagnosed with when Pretty was little. So much fun!) I hope you mend quickly, Dearheart.

@DaddyEvil, do you still have any cancer? I know you have some medical issues but forgot what they all are.

@CarolDM Most of my dad's family lived way in the late 80's and some in the late 90's. I just hope I keep that schedule the same way.

Just take it one day at a time. I'm sure things will sort themselves out in time. You're a fighter. You're alive, you'll survive.

Nice to see you back, I only wish you the best. " When it rains it pours" that's true but " there's always light at the end of the tunnel and it rain does not pour forever. These things are curable now especially with early detection. Best luck with my prayers.

It's called Squamous Cell Carcinoma. I never heard of it before.
