A Chilly Start To The Day

It's a cold 33 degrees here this morning. The high will be in the 50s. I think cold weather is here to stay. As much as I don't like the cold, I was ready for Fall and cooler temps. But as usual, we went from warm to cold. Now a part of me is wishing for spring again. I know, I'm never happy with the weather
Right now I'm getting myself mentally prepared to go to the pharmacy to pick up my medication. It seems like ever since the pandemic and my brother dying, I find it difficult to leave my apartment. I've always been a homebody but never had any issues doing errands or going to appointments. That's changed and I guess under the circumstances it's normal. I don't have agoraphobia because I don't freak out and once I am away from home, I am fine and enjoy my outings.
Has or does anyone else feel this way about leaving their homes?

I can totally relate to the not wanting to leave the apartment Sharon. It sure is a push to do so.
Yes, in fact it takes every ounce of me to get out the door.
It is horrid feeling.

Our day started out a couple of degrees colder then yours did. There was a heavy frost on everything this morning.
I dread going out also.
I used to shy away from busy crowded places, as I dislike crowds so much.
But since early 2020 I have gotten afraid when I have to go out.
I have my own little patterns, I will only go to the grocery store if I can be one of the first thru the door, that way I know that everything was sanitized overnight and should still be clean.
I hosted a baby shower for our daughter-in-law a couple of weeks ago, and some of my sister-in-laws and I were chatting, and we all agreed that the past 20 months has changed most of us probably forever. These fears, changes in how we go out and where will live with most of us our entire lives.

I still work, so I go there. Most of the time I do not have to drive to get there. I noticed yesterday, when I had occasion to drive to work and took the opportunity to drive to a thrift shop that driving is bothering me. Hubby does 99 % of the driving around here.

I seem to be the opposite....I don't like being home for long periods of time. I'm always out and about and very active, so when I'm home I often feel like it's unproductive time, although it's not. Once I settle in, I find it nice and cozy, at least for a little while.

@moffittjc Well now, that's just not fair, is it? If I lived close enough it would be my safe haven too.

Just from interacting here with you, I had that impression of you. I really wish I was that way. Now, when I was younger I was more active and loved going out and doing things but I was always happy to be back home. I guess I think of it as my space, my safe haven.

@simone10 My “safe haven” is Disney World! Lol. That’s where I feel most relaxed and most “at home.” That’s why I go there so much!

I'm pretty much a homebody. I go out when I have to; but I hate to drive anymore. I'm also nervous when my husband drives...and I hate cold weather.

I don't like leaving either although I don't have problems when I finally do leave. My daughter is the same way which I just found out today.
