Let's face it that most of us cannot live without our modern gadgets, such as smartphones. I, myself cannot live without it anymore. My life is not complete if not playing with it. Although I tried to live in Tajikistan using a basic phone, still I used it before. And up to this date, I am using the upgraded one. How about you, myLotters? If I had to, I could live without most technology. I grew up watching technology evolve to where it is now. It makes me thankful for what I do have.

I have a smartphone but I only use it for calls, texts and to keep notes to myself on... I cannot live without my laptop. I do everything on my laptop.

I think the phone is an important item in this day and age, with a telephone we can do anything, especially to contact people when we are far from each other.

I do agree that our mobile phones are considered a basic necessity now. I think we need to add it in Maslow's Hierarchy Needs.

I can't live without my phone too. I would love to go on a long holiday cut off from all these gadgets. Just yesterday, I read about a man who went on a 75-day silent meditation retreat at a Monastic Academy. This happened in 2020 before the pandemic started. When he came back he was stunned to see what was going on in the world.

You said it rightly. Nowadays, we are so dependent on our modern day gadgets that feel like it's impossible to live without it, but it isn't. I try taking breaks from using my phone as there is life beyond it

Same, smartphone and my car. So before pandemic, 3 things I always look when outside home : Mobile phone, car key and wallet. During pandemic : wallet is not longer needed :-D

I am more close to virtual friends here and there. I used to have close friends offline but they had changed and forgot my existence. I use my mobile phone to connect to my immediate family only and earn some extra pennies.
