I don't like cool weather but with the cold temperatures it also come fruits that I love. One of them is pomegranate, I have a tree in my garden and it is full of this delicious fruit. I pick some that were opened today. My kids like it too and mine are very sweet. Their only problem is that they are very difficult to peel. Do you like pomegranates? Picture of my pomegranate

@nela13 It takes a couple of years before they bear fruits. I always have a dwarf one, the fruits are not edible, but so cute. I use to decorate for Christmas.

I'm glad they like it. It's awesome you have a tree in your garden. Yes, I love pomegranates. I buy the seeds only. I've never seen the pomegranate as you have it pictured.

@just4him the fruit often opens in the tree, that way it is easier to see if it is ready to harvest. It is a beautiful fruit.

I'm not certain if I've ever had fresh pomegranate. You're lucky to have a fruit tree in your garden. I miss having fruit trees and bushes like where I grew up. My husband doesn't understand that, because he's never lived anywhere that he had his own food growing on the property.

@nela13 I've had pomegranate juice by itself and couldn't stand it, but I think that it has been included in some smoothies that I've ordered and it was fine. Sometimes, the reason I can't remember whether I've had something is due to situations such as that. I'll order something, eat it, like it, and then not be able to remember later if I've had a specific thing because I've not actually worked with that particular ingredient myself.

I have only had fresh pomegranate. Did you try it in juices? Yes, there is nothing like to have our own fruits and vegetables.

I do like them but I do not bother with them for the reason you said. And they are hard to eat the fruit for me now. I am glad you have a tree of them..they are very expensive to buy here.

@nela13 Yes and no. We only go grocery shopping once a month. So we might miss the season for them some years. They aren't a locally grown fruit.

I love pomegranate drinks but not eating the fruit by itself. It's too much hassle. I'd rather buy the juice drink in carton boxes.

Although I do like them very much, I don't like the work it takes to get to the part to eat, so I don't buy them. Pomegranate is one of my favorite scents in the kitchen.

I wait until they open in the tree, the one you see in the picture opened in the tree, it is easier to peel them when we harvest when they are already opened.
