Finally finished!

A long time ago, at the start of the year, I started knitting a pair of fingerless gloves, using some interesting yarn that was a blend of colours. The snag was I hadn’t realised that the periodicity of the yarn would mean that the gloves would come out looking completely different - one in bright shades and one much more muted. So I carried on to knit another two, hoping that I would get the same mix again and thus end up with two pairs. But then I accidentally knitted the right hand twice, so I had to continue and knit two more left hands! So finally I had six gloves almost finished. But by this time it was spring and my time got taken up with gardening rather than knitting, and the gloves lay, almost finished, for months. Now at last I have managed to sew up the sides and they are done! All I have to do now is decide which two go together best. All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2021.
I wear fingerless gloves a lot - I have always suffered from cold hands. I have several pairs on the go at once; one pair for going out, one for wearing in the...

I wear this type a lot, and so do both the girls. Little One has already 'bagsied' one pair and I think a friend will have another.

@Nawsheen Oh thank you! I wear this type a lot and so do my two daughters so I'm sure they will all be used.

They are cute, and I like the slightly mismatched vibe. I think that the best match-ups are #1 and #6, #2 and #5, and #3 and #4.

Thanks. And for the pairs, I wasn't sure whether to go for 3 and 5, but I think now they're all finished, you're probably right.

I remember the little accident about the right hand knitted twice. They all look pretty.

Thank you. I still have some of the yarn left so if the last pair don't match well enough I may have to knit another!

@Fleura Those gloves are great for winter, I am sure that friends will ask for a pair if you knead more.

Now that is the sort of thing I'd do! I might try to crochet some but I'm wondering if they'd be as soft as knitted ones. I crocheted a singlet top once, all in one piece, just had to stitch the seam at the top of the shoulder which should have been simple but I sewed the two front straps together then the two back straps together and ended up with a very funny garment. Luckily it was an easy fix.

@Fleura I couldn't work which were armholes and where my neck was supposed to go! And if it was a shopping bag, it had an open bottom. lol

Those are very nice, you did a good job. Working with that type of yarn produces different results, but that's part of the fun.

I am no good in knitting - in fact no good in stitching anything You have done a great job and those mismatches are great too - wise thinking (lol)
