I Have 2 Things To Talk About Today

I couldn't decide which topic to choose so I decided to touch on both of them. You can chime in to one or the other or both lol
First one is the fact that it's Remembrance Day... I'm thinking about my grandfather today and the life and times that he experienced in the 1st World War. So many horrific stories that mom told me that he shared with her. Not that he liked talking about it because he kept most of it bottled up. He's my hero today.
The second is about raking your leaves. I'm wondering if you are a raker of not a raker of the leaves that have fallen onto your grass in the fall. It boggles my mind to see people that put bags and bags of leaves onto the curb when if they were left, they turned "magically" into fertilizer for your lawn come spring.
So, that's my post for this morning... hope that everyone is having a great day!!

I'm still amazed at how many people are putting leaves in bags to be picked up by the town!

It is, and I don't tend to rake leaves here much...so many trees you rake one day and it looks the same the next.

When I go for my walks, I love to see a carpet of leaves... they are so colorful. And you are right... even if you do rake them, your lawn looks the same the next day!

My grandfather told me he tried to join the Navy in the early 1920s but they wouldn’t take him because he had flat feet. So he just had to settle for one son and two grandkids (my brother and me) joining in his place.
Salute to all the men and women who served!

My dad wasn't excepted either for medical reasons. If you don't have a healthy heart... you can't join.

@hate2iron Leaf raking is as futile as ironing. My grandfather fought at the Somme.

The person across the street has to have about 6 bags of leaves waiting to be picked up!

I love leaves and flowers, especially in spring or autumn. It's cool to have a Memorial Day to remember our veterans.

My dad got lucky and they ebded the war the day he was supposed to ship out. It is veteran's day here. My hubby was in Viet Nam.
We leave the leaves. They are good for the ground.

Most people in the military don’t like to talk about the hardship they endured during wars. I didn’t know, my brother in law had been awarded the Purple Heart for years. He had gone under fire to carry his wounded buddies off the battle field.

Yesterday was Veterans Day here in the US. On this day we thank all those that have served in the armed forces. No, we don't rake. When the neighbors across the street cut our grass, the leaves become mulch. Have a great day!
