Being Different

We get to feel left out when we feel we act different, simply because we don't socialize, dress, talk, or belong to a class of our peer groups.
Don't be afraid of being different, be afraid of being the same as everyone else.
Nobody is worth losing yourself for.

The irony is, everyone is different, in some way.
I don't think you need to be the 'same' but rather, learn how to adapt to circumstances and other people.
Interestingly, the writer of the book of 1 Corinthians in the Bible said:
For though I am free from all people, I have made myself the slave to all' - so he wasn't ashamed of himself, he was 'free' from all people - he was a thinking, free person, but he 'made himself' a slave to all.
In what way? He adapted to various people in order to communicate important truths to them.
He modified his message and delivery so that he did not needlessly alienate his audience.
Thereby, as he said:
'I have become all things to people of all sorts,....
What was his motive?
'.. so that I might by all possible means save some.'
He was sharing the good news of the Kingdom of God and wanted to make the message palatable to as many as would listen.
We can use this same principle to make friends, to keep a good relationship with our family, co-workers and people in general.
