Vaccination Centre

Yesterday I took my 15 year old granddaughter for her covid vaccination. We had to travel some distance to the nearest centre but I couldn't believe how busy it was. We had an appointment but it is supposed to be a walk in centre too. Unfortunately there were too many people arriving and some had to be turned away. We waited an hour until it was our turn which I was surprised about considering we had booked.
It shows there is a good uptake on vaccinations in the UK despite rising infection rates and our prime minister says he is not reintroducing mandatory masks or social distancing measures at this time as deaths remain low.
Afterwards we went for a KFC. Nothing like a bit of junk food to put a smile on a 15 year old's face!

I agree. the measures at the centre were very strict. We had to sanitise our hands and wear a mask that they provided. We also had to social distance.

@sprite1950 We need to wear the mask, sanitize our hands and keep social distancing even in the grocery stores. It's not enough, but it helps.

@LadyDuck I wish everyone had to here too but many people don't. No wonder our infection rate is so high.

It's the same here although the measures at the vaccination centre were very strict.

@sprite1950 Are you allowed to go to restaurants/fast foods if you are not vaccinated? Over here one has to be fully vaccinated

She had had a reaction today and is not feeling well. I had to collect her from school and she is now asleep. I love KFC chicken .. so delicious.

Some countries are doing under 12 but the UK is not doing it yet. She is feeling a little unwell now and I have had to pick her up from school but I'm sure she will be well very soon

@Shavkat Yes the more people who are protected the less cases there will be.

Our KFC closed and we have to drive 45 miles to get to the next one that's still open. (Right now it doesn't matter since we aren't eating at restaurants...)

We don't have a KFC in my town but the vaccination centre was in Bath and they have
two there. It may be classed as junk food but it is yummy

KFC restaurants here in my city are pretty trashy, I'm surprised they don't get shut down by the health department. In the next town over (where I work), they are building a new KFC, and I'm hoping it is a lot better than the ones in the city where I live.

You mean the hygiene is bad? It seems pretty good here but I wouldn't know for sure.

@moffittjc I don't blame you. I went to one near Bristol airport once and there was blood oozing from the pieces of chicken. Chicken needs to be cooked properly and in hygienic conditions.

@sprite1950 Yes, their restaurants are run down and dirty. I used to love KFC in the past, but I won’t eat there anymore due to the lack of cleanliness in most of their restaurants.

I had my booster a few weeks ago and I also got the infection back in September. Luckily I had it very mildly; I didn't get a reaction after the vaccination but my granddaughter got a slight reaction and felt poorly for a day after.

We have a good take up in the UK but there are antivaxxers everywhere.
