It is a succulent oplant belonging to Crassulacea family. Some people call it as Mexican hens and chicks. Her scientific name sounds like Russian, Echeveria Lilacina. Do you think plants' names are good for humans as their names?

We call that a hen and if it has babies, a hen and chicks. Some plant names work fine as human names... but some do sound strange.

I do agree that it does sound strange. How much more if we named our babies from medical terms, too.

It does resemble a hen flares out her feathers to cover her chicks. It makes sense to be called hens and chicks.

I do agree with you. I also noticed that most Chinese people love to name themselves using flowers' names, such as Rose, Lily, Daisy, etc.
