Today I woke up remembering old friends from when I was small. But now people not only go to other cities. They also go to other countries and you don´t know how to reach them.
My friend Dixie has been able to track down part of her ancestors but it is a difficult task.
So I have to accept that my family is a small one. My only sister has a daughter who lives in England. She married a Canadian and has 2 children. I would not be able to know then if then walked by my side.
That´s why I cherish so much the family and friends that are still near me. How is it with you?

I have been in touch with my siblings but is not much more than that. I am closer to my best friends.

@marguicha I avoid my brother as much as I can, I am closer to two of my cousins.

I have many cousins that I would not know. But I do have 2 that even if I dont know their face after a long time I still know their voice.

I have very few relatives left all living their own lives in Latvia, And then I have my husbands family my stepson and his family in England and my stepdaughter and her family in Latvia,

@marguicha yes, except there might be a few distant relatives but I have long lost track of them they used to live in Michigan,

I have many relatives but few family. There are some people I'd like to forge closer bonds with, since I really did not mean to lose touch with them. Others, though... Eh, not so much.

I have 3 first cousins who I am estranged with. It is sad (long story as to why). I have other not so close cousins who I wish I could see more of. My sister and her family and my parents live 2 hours away.

I am estranged from my family. My father disowned me when I moved out at the age of 21. On my husband's side, we are now the oldest living relatives. There are just cousins left.
