At this time last year my father would still be around.
I am not looking forward to Christmas this year,
But I know it is something I will have to live through.
My heart is still broken. I miss him so much...

@maria82 I wish you the best of luck. We're kind of going through it, having lost my mother-in-law in may. It will feel odd, not sending out a christmas card for her, but life goes on.

It's hard. Memories can crowd in and the tears can start. My parents have been gone a long time, but in my mind I can still hear my Dad yell out ''Merry Christmas'' on Christmas morning. I treasure memories of good times.

Sorry for your loss. The first are always the hardest but I promise you they get better. You never forget them and it always hurts but you learn to life day to day without them.
