CHILD AGE BELIEFS

Now growing up back then, I could remember being told not to pick stuffs ranging from meat, candies and snacks mostly anything edible once it touches the floor. Being from a religious home contributed to my fear of that belief as well as we were made to belief it was the devils meal once it hit the floor. As much as we would like to pick it up, that fear was always there to remind us. can you remember any of your childhood beliefs?

Now they talk about the 5-second rule. If it falls on the floor and you pick it up within 5 seconds then it is safe to eat. But I'm not sure that that is really true.

Lol, I can imagine my little brother struggling with our dog then. I wonder who would pick up the goody first if the 5 -second rule was applied.

Well you certainly would catch germs if you pick it up off the floor and eat it.I was told dont bathe as you just wake up .Cool off first.I was also told dont bathe immediately after ironing. Cool off first or you will get sick

I used to believe in that too, but there's a scientific rule called the rule of 5 seconds : if you can pick it up in less than 5 seconds then it's okey to eat it. But if it's sticky I wouldn't.

We were told not to pick it up because of germs, not because of religious reasons. Even if I pick it up less than 1 second, I would not eat it. However, if it's, let's say, raw vegetable or fruit, even raw fish or meat, of course, we'll pick it up and wash it because it will be cooked later anyway.
