Chicken & Dumplings: What Are You Cooking Up Today?

It is a rainy day for us today. It was raining before dawn and has continued to rain on and off all day. We have a bit of thunder too that sounds far off but yet very close. It's kind of errie.
Anyway, I decided to fix a pot of chicken and dumplings today since this cold front is making its way through our area. We will be in the low 40's tonight so this will be a nice hot meal later tonight. I sampled them for lunch and found them very tasty! My hubby doesn't eat chicken and dumplings so I will have to find comething quick for him to eat later on. He had a sandwich for lunch.
This was a pretty inexpensive meal. I had bought a 10 lb. bag of leg quarter and froze most of them in small packets for meals for us. The whole bag was on sale for $3.00. I used the broth from boiling the chicken so that was $.00. I didn't make the dumplings but used the frozen ones that are already rolled out. That package was $2.86 or so. The only other thing added was a bit of milk and seasoning. So a pot of dumplings for around $3.50 I estimate.
What are you cooking up today or tonight?

Don't know that I'll do any cooking today. If I do, it will likely be something simple like eggs.

My family loves chicken and dumplings and also homemade chicken and noodles. I am making them next week when my grands come for dinner, probably Tuesday. Yours look delicious.

@kareng I make both kinds, because some of the family like drop dumplings and some like the rolled ones. I just try to alternate them.

Had spaghetti for brunch and will probably just snack on frozen berries, maybe I'll add boiling water to them to make them less frozen.

Ooh, that sounds yummy. I’m probably going to have “breakfast for dinner,” since I had a big lunch.

Yum! I love chicken and dumplings. We had Meals on Wheels - Chicken Alfredo with noodles, broccoli, mixed veggies and cinnamon applesauce.

We too at Hawaii, had a Kona low type of rain, where storm parks itself & slow moving. Floods happened . So made my go to ramen noodles, Spam pieces, green onions & had wonton too. Today finally, dry but, grey cloudy skies. Been raining 2 days now. Good bargain you got!
