Crocheting beanies again

We recently lost a sister-in-law and her husband has given me a lot of wool that Kerry had stashed away. Kerry was a great knitter but in later years, her eyesight deteriorated so much that she had to give up knitting. I have started crocheting beanies again. I’ve been using up the small amounts of wool, mixing and matching colours as I go. The photo shows the first three that I’ve done. I’ve had to throw out some wool as the moths had got into it. However, there is enough wool left for many more beanies.

@JudyEv I made one for my niece years ago, you are right that they are quite quick. I get bored when something takes ages.

@LadyDuck That's why I prefer crochet to knitting. Crochet 'grows' much faster.

@Tampa_girl7 The children's cancer ward will take them to give to children who have lost their hair through chemotherapy. The ones made with baby wool go to the premature babies' ward.

@oahuwriter Yes, we are and the last two days the temperatures have almost got to 100F. But mostly we don't get a lot of days at such high temps.

They look cute. Good that the wool found right hands. I like the color combinations. My younger daughter keeps crocheting beanies and sells them for fund raising at Christmas fair. Hopefully we have that fair this year. It didn't happen last year due to the pandemic

@JudyEv Oh yes! Sorry, I forgot. Your seasons down under are opposite from the others. That's all right, my friend from Australia gave me a lecture on that several years ago. And I wouldn't believe him. Ha ha. I deserve that. Hope you can make plenty for many.
