Question: "What activities can keep you entertained?"

Aside from being here and there, I am also entertained playing with our baby twins at home. They are my nieces. Plus, their older sister. It is how we make our lives enjoy being with the family. Having babies in the house brings joy. What activities do you find boring? Why do parents need to keep their children entertained? Image Credit: media.istockphoto.com

That’s so nice that you have babies in the house I take care of my apartment , Mylot. Watch a little TV. Read, walk and talk on the phone. That’s how I spend most of my days.

@RubyHawk I am glad that you have lots of activities daily. I also do other things aside from my myLotting and feel blessed to have two online jobs. Hopefully, to be more productive by next year. Welcome to myLot... @Memeei

Babies are little bundles of Joy when you are around them. They make you sometimes forget your troubles due to the mischiefs they get in.

I do agree that they will remove all the stressors at work when seeing them smiles once stepping into your door.

Why do parents have to keep there children entertained that is so easy because if they don’t there kids will destroy everything I mean everything. When bored they will find something to entertain themselves and it will be messy. Like poop on the wall or baby powered on the floor. Busy hands means things are not being broken or destroyed. Myself I rather be bored and take a nap. I enjoy my kids being gone for 6 hours for 5 days a week it means they leave me alone and bug there teachers and friends.

I can imagine how they broke things if not being attended to. The older sister of these twins was not that nagger during her childhood years. Recently, my nephew broke their TV 2 months ago. My younger sister was so devastated about it. I always believe that most moms are superwomen, which I had seen how my mother takes good care of us and deals with children's naughtiness before.

@Shavkat even when attended to things get broken, can’t keep an one them 24/7 who else do kids learn they learn by mistake, by breaking things and trying to out it back together. Rules are meant for breaking so lesson can be learned. I got things broken, mess on the floor or as I say bombs for there humans that are clearly living. At home they are like this which is normal means they feel safe when not at home they are little angles everything cleaner and organized. Most of the neighbors compliment on the kids and how sweet they are.

If you do not keep the babies busy they become bored and they destroy the house.

I agree if they are in the toddler's stage. I had witnessed that with the older sister of these twins before. At present, my nephew is making his mom's cabinet upside down.

@LadyDuck You can add that some moms work in their companies and continue to do things at home, too.

@Shavkat Even a mother who stays at home needs to cook, to do laundry, to clean the house, she needs to keep the kids busy.

They do entertain me in many ways now. The older sister always has tutorial sessions with me. I hope I could teach my little nephew, but he is in another city.

Activities on the internet, including discussion activities with friends in MyLot. Little babies are so cute, and so entertaining

Yes, they are. If one of the twins cries, the other one will also cry.

@Shavkat Yes usually if the twins are identical, then they will have the same taste, and the same style too.

We didn't used to have to entertain them. Before the pandemic they could go out and play with friends

@Shavkat probably because of pandemic. Kids need to learn these days to entertain them selves. They are bored too easily because of technology spoiling them

@bunnybon7 The good thing is that my niece learns so many things when having classes with me prior to her classes online with her real teachers.

I am glad that young ones are allowed to do things outdoor. In my country, the local government advised staying at home as much as possible.

Quite simply, parents need to keep their children entertained because it's a way to "keep tabs on them" and/or to keep them docile. Boring activities generally involve 'doing nothing as you wait to do something'---I think of 'waiting for a ride' and then 'sitting in the car, waiting to get where we're going (obviously I'm not the driver ). Other boring activities are the ones you usually like to do while you're watching TV or listening to music---like 'cleaning your room' or 'folding laundry'.

As you had described children, it proves that their attention span is so short as compared to adults. The worst boring that I need to endure is waiting for someone who is so late with the appointment time. Or, a chatterbox that is full of himself or herself and does not end the story.

Well, playing with babies is high on my list. They are learning machines. And love machines. I also keep myself entertained with music and my various "projects."

Sad to say, my older niece started to learn how to play Ukelele but she cannot go out to learn it. Perhaps I can still motivate her to learn by watching some tutorials on YouTube.

Babies at home keep us busy and happy. At the same time they are the reasons of enough worry when the fall ill.

I do agree with the worrying part. Babies can only cry when they are ill and we cannot figure what makes them keep on crying.

boring activities when we do nothing, just stay at home. Yes, parents need to entertain their children so that the relationship between parents and children is getting closer, right..

That's a hard question to answer. I think watching TV is boring for me. Going with the wrong friends can be boring for me as well. I think learning fun things is what can keep children entertained.

Most men love watching sports on TV, but I find it boring and prefer watching them in the actual setting. I feel so bored if people are so timid and passive enough to speak.
