I did not know that it is also a family member of Euphorbiaceae as 'Euphorbia Pulcherrima'. Most of you know the common name of it as 'poinsettia. In Baguio City of the Philippines, the residents usually have them on their premises and call them 'December Flowers.' I assumed that American soldiers brought them here. During the American era in this country, they made this city their favorite place for vacation. For the reasons that it reminds them of their beloved place in America and resembles the cold weather during the autumn season. Do you have these December flowers?

@crossbones27 Poinsettias are grown in the US as houseplants. They originally came from southern Mexico but are grown in green houses all over the world now. They were first shipped to the US in 1829 and have been grown here ever since.

My brother-in-law had a huge pot of these that I admired yesterday. They always look artificial to me.

In China, my colleagues and I used to produce artificial plants and that includes poinsettia. The good thing is that my previous company produce authentic and similar textures with these plants.

@JudyEv I do agree with you. After this pandemic, my sister and I are planning to work with our former American company in Cambodia.

@Shavkat It is sometimes impossible to tell the difference between artificial and real plants nowadays. These are so red that they look artificial even when they are not.

That is pretty interesting. Pretty cool and no, none of those plants. are here I wonder where they are originally from. Must be pretty adaptable to grow in very different climates.

@Shavkat The drought here is bad. Trees look sick Palm Trees which are not from here but they literally melt from hot son if they have no water. I never knew trees could literally bend over and die. That is what I mean by melt. Point is not many things seem to be able to grow here unless some kind of green house or steady water system. Street trees here look sick, yard trees that get proper water still look very healthy.

@crossbones27 That's a good idea to have a nursery for these plants there then.

According to my lovely mom, this plant can grow in temperate climate places in my country. Although they are more abundant in my city because of the cold weather all year round. I wondered why nothing there.

My poinsettia is sitting on my dining room table. I love the plant, which I learned is from a flowering tree.

I agree. It can be planted as bonsai with small plants. I had seen some of them in the city.
