Payment for Quality Discussions and Responses

It is wonderful to see that myLot will now pay extra for those who start quality discussions as well as those who make quality responses. I hope that this means we will not see any more inappropriate 'yes' 'thanks' 'no' responses to what should be a good discussion. Thank you myLot for this initiative. How will this affect you and if your earnings drop will you still post here in myLot? Alternatively if your earnings drop, will you look for another site to earn money?

Yes, this makes me very happy. Hopefully, it will get rid of those responding only for quantity. I think my earnings should go up. I think the change will be for the better. I like this web site minus those annoying discussions that doesn't make any kind of difference in peoples lives like,"which do you like better, coke or pepsi" Please, who cares!

Yes caribe I think this is a wonderful move as well and also think that my earnings will increase too. As you say, who cares about the colour of someone's else (or at least in a forum situation) or whether they drink coke or pepsi. Thanks very much for the contribution to the discussion. :)

It has always had me wondering how people can make 200 (or more) posts per day, or at least claim that they have. The only way I can see they can do this is not to acknowledge those who respond to their own discussions, start heaps of discussions about trivial things and also spend more than half the day here at myLot. Some days I do make a lot of posts but also those days I do spend a lot of time here. I hope you are right and this does stop the spammers. Thanks for your contribution to the discussion. :)

I think people will still be paid for short answers but not as much. You can check this out by going to the guidelines. Thanks for responding robertofootball.

sometimes the topic that is being discussed deserve's an yes or no reply. I alway's try to add on more word's. It is hard and I like to leave good reply's, and have long replies left on my discussion's and also I try to thank everyone that post on my discussion. I don't even know how we get paid on this site. Is it for posting discussion's or replies, picture, I just don't know, all I know is that I have earned 13.16 and that's all I know.

i came on here about an hour or so ago and looked at the discussions and thought gee there are some reasonable posts on here at the moment i started commenting on my responses then went back to check my friends posts and saw there were still some good posts then i thought i should check the new alert then i understood why the posts are of a better quality . At last we don't have to plough through loads of rubbish to find a decent topic .I was wondering where has the edit gone we are back to preview and respond.I thought it may just have been in the comments area but it is here as well .I like the edit better

Yes rosebug I also think that we are going to find some good quality discussions to respond to, and the best thing is that we will be paid more for it too. Of course some members will not come here with this new payment method but that is their decision. Keep making quality responses and discussions, and you will see your earnings increase. Thank you very much for your response to the discussion rosebug. :)

i love this new rule, finally some justice!!!, there are many users who just respons wid a "yes" or "no", and sometimes their responses are totally in adverse to the discussion which i think is whack, all those users care about is the ratings, well now they can get get their ratings, just not the money they used to get for such stupid responses, now there will be more quality discussions and not just about the color we like the most!!!

Yes, there is justice after all. However just look at some of the responses to this discussion and you will see what many people have been saying about inappropriate one or two word responses. Thanks very much for contributing to the discussion. :)

i totally agree with your assessment. its a wonderful idea for people who enjoy posting and reading quality discussions. also with the new rules i hope we never see trivial discussions like how old are you or whats your favorite color. i managed 40 to 45 posts yesterday and managed to earn almost $4.00. its a good thing for people who posts quality replies and interesting discussions.

Your comment is so relevant compumom and I agree that we will never get rich from myLot. I like quality discussions and responses, to discuss with other members and for me the earnings are a bonus. However, I am also pleased to see that myLot are now "rewarding" members who look for quality rather than quantity. Thanks very much for your response.

That's intersting. It took me 4 weeks to earn $4 using the old method. After the initial newness of myLot wore off, I realized that I spent a lot of time searching for quality discussions and was unable to find many and thus was unable to post comments. In the past, I would post about 1 or, on a good day, maybe 2 comments a day. Now with the new assessment, I've already posted 3 or 4 within a shorter period of time. I'm not looking to get rich from myLot, but I would like to find conversations with more meaning than "Are you a boy or girl?":) As a result of the inane conversations, I never referred anyone to this site. I was too embarassed by the silly topics. Maybe after a few interesting discussions, I might be able to refer my friends here.

I noticed my earnings have gone up today. I was pleasently surprised. This means, may be my postings are appreciated by myLot, may be. I am so happy. Werent we discussing this some time back about the bad and one word responses. Thanfully, I never give such answers and I answer only if I really have a good explanation. Otherwise, I dont go to such discussions for the sake of going. May be the people who are here only for money, might drop out. But, I am sure, all who value good discussions and friendships will remain and I dont think their earnings will go down.

Well, I am HAPPY that myLot finally listened to us, and all the complaints about Bad topics, and are wanting Quality here. I am not worried, because it might actually improve this site overall to where we will find some Good topics and discussions now to reply too, and get rid of some of the people who responded to like 400 posts a day, with maybe only a 2-3 word answer. YAY myLot. Love the New changes, and long may you live.

You are so right that those who make quality responses will be the winners out of this new initiative by myLot. Those who make or claim to make 400 posts per day will either have to improve their responses or get less money. Thanks for responding to the discussion. :)

I think this is great. I haven't been on myLot that long, and can't always spend as much time as I would like to on it as I do work full time. I was finding it boring and silly at times with some of the stuff posted or the responses. I had found my self going to another site that does not pay, just because it was more interesting and intelligent. I can see the difference here already, can you. Now I will enjoy it much more I am sure. regards and all the best. It looks like you have been on here for a while perhaps you can tell me how to ask some one to be my friend. I have had a lot of requests and always accept, but I am not sure how I ask some one to be a friend. I would appreciate any help . thanks. All the best and good luck on the new myLot

I agree Bunny2 that this should improve the quality of discussions that are offered. I suspect that the number of active members will suddenly decrease, and that isn't a bad thing either if the quality of discussions improves. Thanks very much for your contribution to this discussion. :)

Hi Ossie, as usual well said. If my earning drop, I don't care, I love to think & write and also get my typing speed back up! I wonder what will happen to those people out there who cut & paste responses, will their comments still count even though they are duplicates? I had one of those yesterday. I don't think I will go to another site, I like this one and the friends I've made along the way. That's Scorpio loyalty for you! LOL

Hi feralwoman and I don't think you are one of those who needs to worry as you make quality responses and that is what the change in payment is all about. With the cut and paste responses, you can either make a comment to the response about it being a 'cut and paste', ignore it, give the person a negative (-) or report it to myLot. If you opt to report it, then use the ! symbol on the right. Actually you will see that I had several cut and paste responses even to this discussion. LOL Thanks very much for your contribution to the discussion feralwoman. :)

I agree will all above. Mylot has done wonderful job to day. Now only seen quality question in rotations and simply this best or that best, which you prefer apple or mango, has gone. I think for those persons who post more than 150 or 200 is setback and for those who really wants quality discussion is encouraging. These changes will stop the competition for maximum numbers and definitely minimize the yes, no and thanks answers. I my self today reduced the number and as result my today’s earning was maximized as compare to other days.

Yes, I think we will see an improvement in the quality of responses. Now all we need is for those who "cut and paste" the same response to be stopped. I am pleased that you are seeing some results from your efforts to make quality responses. Thanks very much for responding. :)

I had a few yes and no answers to some of my questions today, and I reflected my feelings about it by giving those folks a negative rating. Overall the quality has improved dramatiaclly in the past 36 hours. I like what is happening because now I can find discussion such as this one where I can offer my input and have it feel like something.

It is that sometimes we do have to give a negative (+) rating simply because the response has nothing to do with the discussion. I give a best response to all discussions I start and positive (+) ratings to both discussions and responses if it is appropriate. I do not do it indiscriminately but rather it is based on merit. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, as well as for responding to the discussion. :)

These scammers are all over the internet .... and have ruined many a good paying site through their spamming activities. Some of them have cost me and my partner money too .... so have no time for cheats. Many forums are now awake up to them .... but it also take a long time for them to get sorted .... and if it is not caught early enough the site will falter. For me, being paid for giving a good response is all the better .... don't get much of a chance to talk to people during the week .... except other truckies .... and all they do is complain (wouldn't let me use the 'b' word) about the police, transport inspectors and government. This forum gives me full rein to say what I want .... and getting paid for that is great.

You are right that those who go elsewhere because their earnings have dropped will find that other sites are not so considerate with regard to paying for poor responses, i.e. one or two word responses. I have always attempted to make a quality response, and have continued to do so. My earnings have increased quite considerably since the changes. :)
