A Big Rocking Horse

Some years ago, we visited The Big Rocking Horse, a fun park in Gumeracha in South Australia. They make a lot of wooden toys there and the workmen are behind glass, like fish in a goldfish bowl. They use computers to run the machines which cut out toy parts to very precise measurements. There is an animal enclosure when you can wander among kangaroos, wallabies and peacocks. At the entrance to the park is this massive rocking horse. You can climb to the top if you want to. The view from such a height is quite spectacular. I wonder if and when we’ll ever get back there. The photo is from a postcard I bought there.

By the time we climbed the steps we weren't fit to do any riding.

Because of the automation, they churn out a lot of toys every day.
