New shoes for me

We went to a different suburb to have our eyes tested yesterday. While we were there, we walked around the adjacent shopping centre and I bought two pairs of shoes. Till now, I’ve been wearing my crocs indoors but with the weather getting hot, they are now no longer comfortable. The shoes are thongs (flip flops to some) and were very cheap. I thought I’d wear the brown ones around the house but I might still try to find some with cloth-type tops as I would be happy wearing either pair on casual outings. Have you bought new shoes recently? And what do you wear around the house? Do you go barefoot?

We had eye exams yesterday and should get our new glasses on the 20th of December. I last bought some new shoes last December, I think. They're still in the shoe box. They're tennis shoes and I don't need them yet. We go barefoot in the house.

I'd go barefoot but the floor rarely feels really clean. I seem to notice the least bit of dirt.

@JudyEv We have carpet through most of the house. Pretty vacuums a couple time a week so we don't have problems feeling anything underfoot.

@DaddyEvil Maybe I just need to vacuum more. We have carpet in the bedrooms, tiles everywhere else.

I wouldn't normally buy two pairs of shoes at once but these were really cheap.

@DocAndersen When Vince finds clothes that fit and that he likes, I always push him to buy two whatevers. It's hard to get him to shop for himself.

I think they are sandals and not close shoes. I think I want to post my new sandals too. I really like the design. I like the strap of your sandals

Both pairs are quite comfortable but almost too nice to wear for everyday inside the house.

These are good shoes you bought. Looks simple and comfortable. I wear slippers around the house. We don't walk barefeet at home

@JudyEv Yesterday while in the city I saw a shoe repair shop. I have a couple of short boots I have that are kinda beat to He'll and back and one has a loose sole. I might take them in there and see how much it would cost to renew them.

@snowy22315 I don't see too many shoe repair shops nowadays. They are mostly teamed in with a key-cutting business.

These ones look good. We call them as flip-flops and the Hindi word is "Chappal". No new shoes for me since a long time. I rarely move barefoot in my house.

Those shoes look really nice. I personally can't stand anything between my toes but I do like the ones I call slip ons with only one strap across the upper part of my foot. It has been a long time since I have bought shoes.

I would agree, they are much better indoors than outdoors. I tend to wear water proof boots in my yard because of those goat head stickers/puncturevines I have all over the place. They are nasty plants.

@rebelann That would make a difference. We holidayed once in a house that was surrounded by double-gee plants. We would come home with dozens stuck in our thongs. (flip flops!!) The goathead looks nasty.

I have one pair of slip-ons that I really like but some of them I tend to walk out of. They might be better for wearing in the house though.

I love flip flops. I haven't bought any new shoes in a long time as I work from home and I have been wearing my old ones. I have gone thru a couple of pairs of nice house slippers though.

Most of my 'shoes' are actually sneakers. I have slippers for winter but tended to stay in my crocs as our winters aren't too bad here.

Those are nice thongs. I never walk barefoot, I have house shoes that I wear inside, often ballerina shoes... good to go up and down the stairs. I bought no shoes during the year 2021... I am patting my back. Should I buy a pair of shoes for Christmas???

@JudyEv We have Ugg boots here too and they are similar. The ones I wear are the slipper socks but they have a good supportive sole on the bottom. And you can roll down the sock part if you want.
My feet stay cold in the winter. I wear thick socks and sometimes that is not enough. With hardwood floors I have to wear shoes with support. I have been...

At the beginning of the year I bought a new pair of hiking shoes. Very sturdy and very comfortable. I wear them all the time, so no wonder they barely last a year!

When you get a really comfortable pair of shoes that's all you want to wear. Vince bought me back a pair of scuffs from Nepal. He had to guess the size but they are REALLY comfortable. I try to limit the times I wear them so they'll last a long time.
