My husband invents a new swear word

In our lifestyle village, I have started playing cards most Thursday evenings with a small group of ladies. A friend suggested I join the group.
Last week, our husbands decided to have a game of pool while we were playing cards. The pool table is in the very next room with doors connecting. Occasionally, we could hear a comment from them and from time to time, one of them would say ‘Seven’ quite loudly.
Vince told me later that sometimes, when men are playing pool, they feel the need to swear when a shot goes horribly wrong. On this particular night, they knew they mustn’t use bad language so they agreed that instead of swearing they’d use the word ‘seven’.
I thought that, for men, this was very clever thinking.
The photo is me dressed as the Queen of Hearts.

@TheSojourner The first words we tried to learn in another language were swearing words.

Oh, that’s hilarious.
And you’re so pretty as the queen of hearts they should write a song about you!

"...for men, this was very clever thinking."
That's got to be the most sexist thing I've heard in a long time!

that is quite clever! plus a curse word you can work into a sentence without alarming the person. Seven brides for seven brothers and all...

@DocAndersen It might be embarrassing if the principal had known her secret.

@JudyEv i had a teacher who used to say vanilla pudding when she meant someone not nice. it made me laugh when she said it to the principal, but then I found out they were talking about lunch and how good the vanilla pudding was!

I think you should dress of Queen of Hearts when you go to your card group. . It could be your thing. Seven sounds alot better than yelling out swear words...lol.

That's a nice dress for a fun card party.
That's a clever thing to do. We tried the same with our nephew when he was young. He picked some bad words from big boys in the neighborhood and used them when he felt angry. We asked him to call people with all the food items names that he disliked. He was five and he liked it. It was fun for others to watch him when he got angry

@JudyEv Here we play Sheep, Rummy, and 28, others also may be present, but I play only these 3 games. It is simple but if we are not in practice then we forget the tricks of the game, of which other players can take advantage. So it takes 2-3 games to come close to the pro level.
