If I could put smileys on that too, I would. I'm so happy today. My favorite season starts today. 
I LOVE winter. I love snow and how it makes everything look beautiful. I love the fact the insects are gone, dormant, or whatever they are until spring. They could stay gone forever in my opinion. I love the cold crisp air that makes your nostrils stick together.
When I was younger, I would sled down the hill across the street from our house. Build snowmen, go ice skating. I even had the opportunity to go snowmobiling once. So much fun! I spent as much time outside as I could.
Winter is when cities put on their finery with Christmas decorations and they're up until the snow melts in spring. One year that was very late because we had a lot of snow preventing the city crew from taking down the decorations.
I loved catching snowflakes on my tongue and eating snow. Those were the good old days.
How many of you are just as crazy as I am about Winter? I can only hope I get my wish for a White Christmas. Right now the chances don't look good. We're getting a trace of snow, about half an inch today, but Thursday the thermometer goes above freezing and will melt anything on the ground. You can believe I'm asking God to change the direction of the storm, that's happening, and lower the temperature so it stays until Christmas.
Okay, I'm counting down until winter starts - 8 minutes and counting.

Love that picture!! Looks like the winters of my childhood when we would bundle up and enjoy the snow.
I like winter but not a big fan of huge amounts of snow. I can deal with a few inches.
I hope you get your white Christmas. I'm hoping we don't get one

All insects are good for is 'bird food!' My father had one of the first snowmobiles, it was bright green! I like the colder temperatures, yet spring is a thrill every time it arrives. New life, Easter(my favorite holiday), budding flowers, birds coming back, their babies being hatched! I love all the seasonal changes, but summer isn't my cup of tea.

I don't like winter that much. We might get a snowflake or two on Thursday but then the temps go up Friday 7°C and Saturday 8°C.

@just4him The predicted high for today is 4°C but it's currently only -1°C, However, rain is also predicted for today but the sun is shining and lots of blue sky out there.

That is nice that you love winter as you have a lot of happy memories you recall with winter. It is unfortunate that we do not have that kind in my place and I am just curious about how you deal with the snow being super cold and everything. What we usually experience here is the cold winds coming from the North that make our tropical climate more tolerable than other seasons here.

@just4him Oh yes Guam is really more like our place. I am living in this kind of place since birth I have been to NY in springtime and I saw the big difference in the climate and I kind of like it at first but after staying that long I still missed my warm place. Never experience seeing snow just blizzards only.

I grew up in Erie, PA which is the second snowiest city in the US, only beat by Syracuse so you know I have those kinds of memories too. I enjoy winter much more than summer especially summers here which are disgusting.ord help me get my act together so I can move before the abhorrent summer starts.

@just4him Ohhh no, I have been in Va since 1984 and whenever my son comes back from Brazil he iwll be here too. I would love to have a summer place there though. I do miss the weather, and of course my mom and dad are there. If I get to move, I will move closer though..I think my sis feels dumped on just because she is closer. I am hoping if I don't have to pay a mortgage I might be able to get a summer place there.

I didn't know Erie, PA was the second snowiest city in the US. I can imagine all the fun you had as a kid. Especially on those snow days. One of my favorite days of winter when schools closed because of all the snow.
I hope you can move before summer comes again. Are you planning to move back to Erie?

As I always say, I love watching the snow fall.

And if they threaten me with sn*w here I pack and go south, driving until they threaten me with 80-degree sunshine.
The one thing I must say is: you live in the perfect place for lots of winter and sn*w. So enjoy it!

Well, the forecast has snow in it for the next several days. However, we're still getting 41 on Friday to melt anything we're getting before then. They're also calling for rain instead of snow on Friday. BUT, they're calling for snow on Saturday, okay a mix, but I'm hoping for more snow than rain. I don't want rain on Christmas. That isn't right. Besides, I did that already on my very first Christmas away from home in San Diego in 1972. It was horrible. I don't want to repeat the experience.

@dgobucks226 I'm still praying for a change in the forecast. We did get snow today, just a trace, but it warms up tomorrow.

I think I have as much enthusiasm for winter as you do, but without the snow. That’s only a pipe dream here in Florida. However, I probably only like winter so much because I live in Florida and don’t have to deal with it.
I love the photograph! Reminds me of simpler times and bygones of yesterday.

Oh, I hate the winter! I don't like the cold! I don't like the snow because I don't like walking in it and slipping over, especially if it's started to thaw and then frozen over again in the night so it goes like sheet glass. I have fallen over on the ice before now, years ago, and landed on my bottom which was painful! Nowadays I try to avoid going out at all if it's been snowing! It might be pretty to look at, but no, I prefer the summer months when it's nice and warm!
