And in another bathroom-related post…

I received some mail from the pension service of which I am a member. Inside was a letter stating that they are ‘changing the way we send you important information’.
Interestingly, along with this missive we also received another identical envelope with the same logo and return address, but this one was addressed to Dr Y Bidet at our address.
Obviously Dr Bidet does not live here, and never has (we know who has lived here since the house was built). So presumably they are ‘changing the way we send you important information’ by randomly posting it out to any old address.
I did wonder if it was a fake name that some junior staff member had entered into the database as a joke, but no… a bit of Googling led me to Dr Yannick Bidet at the Université Clermont Auvergne in France!

I started writing something funny (to me) here and decided "other people" might not find it as funny as I do/did. So I deleted it.

If you check the French directories there are many Mr. Bidet, there is even a Restaurant called "Monsieur Antoine Bidet". I think that Anglophones have a thing with this word and this very common item found in most European countries (except the UK of course).

The strange thing was that his letter was addressed to my house!
But yes the name did at first make me think it might be some sort of prank. What does 'Bidet' actually mean? I just looked on Wikipedia and it claims bidet is a word for a pony.

@Fleura Bidet is the name of the thing on the left of the toilet on your photo. It means nothing, that is its name, as you call a sink a sink, you call that piece of plumbing fixture "bidet". It is a French word, but we also call it bidet in Italy.
