I am a natural born worrier

I know I worry too much about things. I have always been like this and it can be so stressful. I often wish I could be more relaxed.
My son who is 13 will receive the varicella or chickenpox vaccine tomorrow. He didn't had the disease yet and according to the doctor it can be dangerous if he gets it in the adolescence.
My daughter didn't have it either but as she is only 9 we will wait.
I need to pay for this vaccine but that is okay, as long as he is protected. I am only worried about the second effects, hope he has none.
I have a friend whose daughter received this vaccine last year and everything went well.
My husband seems to be more relaxed but I can't avoid to be nervous and worried. Maybe it is a mother thing...
Do you also worry to much about things?

Worrying is a sign that you are not comfortable about something. It only means that the thing you are worrying is in the top levels of your priorities. Its quite natural to be worried, particularly if its about your children\s health and safety. But over doing it is no longer worrying. Its anxiety Its not being helpful but only adds up to your stress. I think you should learn to handle things calmly so you don't loose focus and arrive at solutions.

@nela13 I have had those issues before myself. The only thing that can satisfy anxiety is assurance. If you are assured that things will go smoothly, you won\t be anxious. Find something that could assure you reasonably and have faith in the solution that you apply and it should help On the case of your child's vaccine, speak to doctor about it and do some research. It should be a good start.

Yes, I am definitely a worrier but I try to give my worries to God when I get too stressed out. It helps.

Yes, I can be a worrier... I can't help it. Any new situation or even meeting a new person can cause me to worry. There's no reason for me to worry, but I still do it. *shrug*
I'm sure everything will go well with your son's vaccination. (I had chicken pox when I was young and Pretty did, as well.)

@nela13 I understand. I worry about things that probably won't happen. Pretty tells me to stop worrying all the time. If I could do that, I would...

@DaddyEvil if there was a magic bottom to turn off, I would use it.

Someone once said to write all your worries on a piece of paper and put it away. Then take it out on the last day of the year. You will find all your worries disappeared. I found that good advice. I've never been a worrier. I take it one day at a time.
I hope the vaccine goes well.

Yes, I worry...although probably not as much as some. Everything will fine with your son.

I need to stop worrying, it is such a waste of energy and leads to nothing.
Thank you, everything went well with his vaccine.
