For the year 2022, I am planning to 'unfriend' some people who are flaunting their expensive tangible things on Facebook. I have been living in simple lifestyle for a long time now. Seeing these people full of themselves needs to be canceled by me. My Facebook is so unhealthy because of them. Thus, it would be one of my biggest plans for next year.

If I did have money I would buy a place for my cat and myself here in Israel and would donate to causes I believe in, but, now I am trying to survive and budget us but some things keep happening and there are those that think I have money which I do not so have to struggle at times.

We call flaunting wealth "flexing" and a lot of people do fake flexing here. They really don't have nice things. They just want people to think they have nice things. It's annoying to see people doing that.
I'd probably still live just like I do now. We already have everything we need.

@Shavkat I just remember that so many people rent fancy cars and borrow expensive jewelry just to flex in front of people who don't know they don't have any money and laugh...

@DaddyEvil I have a batchmate in college who does this. She got married to an American guy and keeps on posting different cars on FB. In fact, I do not believe that she can have a pricey one in a short time being in America at that time.

I don't like to hear people brag a lot, either.

You are not alone I also live a simple life. I dont bother with facebook except with contacting people at work. joining groups on minimalism and frugal living.

@yoalldudes I can feel you. Before this thing happen in my life, I originally planned that it will be my part-time job. However, it changed my mind, and make it full-time because of family matters.

@Shavkat I understand. I hope to be in such working arrangement too in time.I'm still trying to slip in some time for training for online job. It isnt easy for me to juggle with dayjob because my body is not that strong.

If I have money, I hope I can travel to many countries and feel different cultures.

I would definitely focused on eating salad and lesser rice intake. Probably more exercise equipment for me to buy.

Maybe they feel their own satisfaction in doing it, but I'm sure people who like to show off will not get the true peace of life.
Because if at this time already showing off one thing, later another desire that is more than before will always want to be done again and always haunt him. Although they are entitled to themselves, just like we are to ourselves.
I agree with you, it will be more comfortable and quiet. Happy new year
