Even the less interested of us about bacteria and viruses now have become experts. I am one of the people who think that the vaccine helps although nothing is perfect. But today I was reading that in my country we have 92% of the people vaccinated with the 2 first doses. I am older and have other ailments so I have 3 shots and will get another one around February because of the omicron covid. I have learned from various sources that things are worsening in the US now. Aruba, where I go for vacations, has changed the rules for the entrance of Americans. I hope I can have vacations this year. Take care.

@marguicha It’s getting worse here in Ireland. Not so many people are dying, but omicron is everywhere. The Care Home where my father lives is now closed to visitors again as are many homes. I think foreign holidays are still far off. France won’t let us in.

It is worsening here,hospitals are filling up again. Many people remain unvaccinated although lately vaccinations have risen.But it doesn’t look good.

Most of the Chilean people have the 2 first doses here (92%). Even the people who did not want to be vaccinated are now doing it because they are not welcome to other houses until they do. Social pressure is a way of ending the so called freedom to be stupid.

@marguicha It’s terrible that people won’t take the vaccination. I can’t understand it. But I hear more people are going in to get vaccinated. So that’s good news

@TheSojourner My dumb eldest grandson only got the vaccine after his father told him that he was not welcome to his marriage unless he got the shot.

We are due to have our boosters in a few weeks but even that may not stop us getting the virus. However, it should mean we won't be so badly affected.

I know that. My eldest daughter had the covid in spite of the shots. She said it was like having a bad cold. She had quarantine and every day a doctor came to her house to check how she and her son and his GF were.

It seems that more and more people are infected by Omicron, but less serious cases than Delta. I hope at least it will be a good sign. Hopefully this virus won't be deadly and the situation will become better since that.

We are not out of the woods yet so this new year I am considering perhaps going and finally getting the vac because I was inside almost all the time and thought I will not take it but now I am reconsidering this seriously,

Other restrictions have been imposed on us today .One of them is that wearing a FFP mask is mandatory and wearing a mask made of textile material is forbidden !
