Getting paranoid

Covid has raised its ugly head again at our school. Four different classes are in isolation and have positive cases. That includes my student's class.
I guess it bothers me because I learned yesterday that my friend's husband is in the hospital on oxygen. She was also ill, but got better.
I am not feeling super good. No real covid symptoms, but I do not want to be run down and susceptible. I do not have a fever.
I have been very tired during the day. My aches and pains in the night keep me from resting well, I know. Then the bruise and swelling from a week ago are UGLY, and painful. I keep hurting it by various "normal" things I do. I find myself wondering if I could have some kind of clot break loose--yeah, paranoid..
I am headed to bed pretty soon to try to keep healthy.
I did not think there was much covid around, but seems there is.

I am somehow paranoid too. My sister-in-law's son went home with a fever last Sunday afternoon. And in their office, some of his colleagues were already sick. My husband's co-worker also tested positive last week. Good thing my husband was not exposed. but those who were exposed are now having it as well. I and my husband are really scared so he is not back yet in the office and works at home even though we do not know if he will be paid

it's such a terrible thing. Everyone is loosing money to survive on. My daughter was sent home because she worked near another girl that got it and she is quarantined

I do hope he is paid. He is doing the work. We knew that after Christmas break and people traveling we would start a new round of infections.

@bunnybon7 I keep looking for some online work to help out. Certain parts of the year I have no income, like for holiday breaks and for the summer. It gets hard to survive.

It is going to end up like the flu and never go away. We will need new shots every year that they hope will defeat the variety that is most common,

Our school goes by percentages. I am not sure what percentage it would take to shut down. It is 15% to go full time mask mandate, which we are.

@GardenGerty we’ve had the mask mandate again since the second week of school. I knew when they didn’t mandate masks when school started the cases would rise so I wasn’t surprised by that at all.

We have gone out more n the last week than we have in a long time. It is time to pull back in, though. Different parts of our country have heavier concentrations. Our part of Kansas, if we do not go in to big cities, does not have a lot.

I think my student was out late on Tuesday night and so was really worn out on Wednesday. The kind of fatigue he showed usually is how tired he is when Friday afternoon rolls around.

This covid is spreading all over the place and with all these variants coming up that no wonder people are nervous. That is not good about what is happening at the school and your class as well. Do you have to get tested?

I have not had any direct contact nor have I been in that classroom. The way my schedule runs, the times he is with his peers another paraprofessional is with him.

That is good that you have not had direct contact with the classroom. Are they safe?

Hope you get better soon! It's really hitting closer to home now . . . so many we know have covid at the moment or have at least tested positive. Our school tests weekly - first day back was yesterday - last week was baseline testing and SO many are not allowed to go to school or teach at the moment. Thus far we are knocking on wood.

I was tired this week, but things picked up later in the week. I think we only had one teacher out, but also our head custodian.

@GardenGerty I guess all we can do is try to stay as healthy as possible as we continue to navigate through winter and this whole virus thing. Stay safe and well!!!

I am pretty isolated within the day. I am not in crowded situations, usually.

I do my best to keep my distance from people. These bruises were an unexpected thing, though.

My student would not benefit at all from online classes due to all of his disabilities. As for the regular school, it is not my choice. I think they believe that the routine and structure of in person learning is needed to make progress

@GardenGerty we have flexible learning in online classes. We're under Amazon Clouds and American United Services paid in million by government. There are 34,890 students population in the university where I'm teaching all online. It's scary to have f2f classes.

As this bruising is healing up and I am getting some things more organized for my work, I have more energy. No respiratory symptoms.

It's no use becoming paranoid. Stay indoors as much as you can. Maintain social distancing when you are out and wear a mask.

That's sad. Christ help your friends, thank you, amen. If you're worried, telemedicine helps. Take care & stay safe.

Thank you for caring. Jim is now able to spend most of his day sitting up in a chair. Cannot be allowed to walk on his own though. His oxygen sats drop.

At the beginning of quarantine , I started having panic attacks against the background of fear of getting sick , I treated it for a long time with a psychologist , fortunately I overcame it , but sometimes I think that I 'm afraid to get sick

I am less worried now, because some of my husband's issues are better. I have taken all appropriate precautions and that is the best I can do.

So, so many people sick with Covid or variants right now. I only go where I absolutely have to go. I see my daughter, but she doesn't go out anywhere either as she works from home. My son not far away works from home, too. They use grocery delivery, and do everything they can to stay well. We all are vaccinated. I just hope we can avoid it.

We are too far from most grocery stores and they would not deliver. I could order stuff from Amazon, I guess.
