Wish me a good time during root canal this morning!

My dentist said I needed root canal on an upper left molar. Today is the big day. I try to appreciate life's little joys. There's an abscess kind of thing up there. It hurts less since I had a round of antibiotics, but it's still there. I wonder what will be the funnest part of my root canal. I'll be sure to report about it. I teach at Guitar Center later in the day. I hope whatever meds they give me do not turn me into a drooling zombie. Wish be big happy joy joy fun!

I wish you all the best. But I won't promise on the medicine you will given because I've ever been to the dentist. The medicines will require you to sleep and rest well

I am glad you are getting it done, it will solve the problem and my experience has been positive with fixing the pain.

@TheHorse You Americans have not developed any laser surgery technologies to repair teeth without keeping jaws open for such a long time? Shame... you all are getting really lazy..LOL Seriously though... stem cells therapies...I read somewhere long ago that you will get something like chewing gum with stem cells in it...and dentists will become paupers.

Yeah, it was actually painless. The hardest part was that the right side of my jaw got tired after awhile of staying in one position.

@thehorse Just lie back and let the dentist do his thing and focus on being rid of the abscess. It’s your wallet that’ll feel the real pain.

I had an abscess on a tooth when I was younger and had a fortnight off school. They thought I had mumps as my face swelled up. I think that tooth was taken out. But I've had root canal since and nearly went to sleep so don't worry too much. I guess it's all over by now.

Good luck and have fun! I've never had one but my husband has had 2 and he didn't like it. He still had trouble with his tooth after the one, which I didn't think that was supposed to happen. I guess it depends a lot on the dentist that does it. Some people haven't minded it one bit while others have hated it. I'm pretty sure they'll advise you to take it easy for at least the rest of the day after having it done.

I just hope you have good dental insurance. My son had to get one recently, and he changed jobs so hadn't met any deductibles yet for his insurance. I couldn't believe how much it was, I mean, just...wow! Hope it heals quickly.
