How MyLot will help me make about $4,000.50 today. I'm serious!

As many of you know, a $4,000 check was stolen from my mailbox a couple of months ago. It was a check from my money manager to help me pay rent and my credit card bill. I am "underemployed" (I am too proud to be unemployed) during these Covid times and needed to dip into my savings.
Today, I finally got the $4,000 phone call I was hoping for. My money manager's assistant called and said that they had made me whole. $4,000 was deposited into my account there.
I thanked her and then told her that they were now the "victim" of the crime. I said that I am going to continue to talk to the Sheriff and the detective, and try to help them be made whole. I will call the detective on the case after I finish this post.
I do not "hate" criminals. They became criminals for a reason. From Donald Trump to the guy who held a gun on me and took my bicycle in Chicago, I believe in compassion. But I also believe in justice. Laws exist for a reason. Socrates allowed himself to die because of his belief in the law.
I'll be off hiking today but I'll probably make a few pennies on MyLot anyway. Combined with my legal/financial windfall, I'll be in slightly better shape today than I was yesterday.
I know mine is a first-world problem. $4,000 is not big bucks to an American in 2022. I'll attach a song that's playing in my head right now. I've attached it before. It's funny. Today is a day I don't have the blues.

I'm glad you got your $4000. It may not be big bucks right now, but pretty soon that'll be what a week's groceries will cost. I was dismayed yesterday to see that a litre of milk cost $3.29 in one store I went into.

I live in American born and raised and 4,000 is a lot of money yeah for some people not everyone so you shouldn’t say American but 4,000 is a lot of money. My husband only make 1,000 biweekly and that’s before insurance and taxes are taken out. His paycheck today was a $250 and he moved $225 I have $225 to pay 3 bills and pay for food for 2 weeks I wish I had $4,000

@TheHorse which is fine that you worn rest but you should retract that American 4,000 is like no big deal if it’s gone because that is Beira a stereo type based if someone Lloyd’s in the world.

@TheHorse It is a relief. But as I am, to quote Greg (@xander6464) a Coastal Elitist Democrat, it is as much about my feeling of "safety" as it is about the money itself.
===========It's almost like you're finally starting to get a clue. I'm proud of you.

@TheHorse it's pretty high...it depends on the personal choices too. If you live in the city, with city activities like restaurants, branbed clotes, expensive holydays no way you can do it with this money. But if you go 50 km further, everithing is cheaper and more simple.

Congrats on receiving the money. You must feel much better now. I would be beside myself if I lost that kind of cash, or had it stolen or whatever.

So thankful you got your money!!! There is a balance that must be maintained between “justice” and “compassion.” I was reading an article this morning (the “couldn’t sleep rabbit hole”) about the Grand Ole Opry coming under fire for letting a guy perform there a year after he said — and apologized for using — the “N word.” How long are we supposed to hold grudges about that?

I would gladly accept four grand if someone wanted to give it to me. And it would last for a while.
Glad you got your money finally.

If converted to peso, that's quite a lot of money..
I am assessing my country now to be living in a quite high than average cost of living but paychecks don't go up..
I hope you find the Justice you were looking for..
And you are right, they go criminals for a reason, but crime is still a crime.. I believe that whoever took that check have a really really big problem the day he took it

I am so sorry to hear that your check was stolen in the beginning. But I am super happy to know that you have your $4000 back. I pray that you will never experience an issue like that ever again. I pray that no one will ever. I do not want to judge these criminals. You're right. They became criminals for a reason. However, they are responsible for their actions, and there needs to be justice. By the way, I hope you enjoyed your hiking. :-)
