Saliva test

Today my son did his covid test, for the first time they had alternatives to the horrible nose test. They did the saliva test, a very simple one as the only thing my son needed to do was put his saliva in a tub.
I am glad that finally there are other type of tests, the nose test procedure is unpleasant, sometimes painful too and as my son has a nasal septum deviation this saliva test was the best for him.
The things in my son's class aren't good at all, this morning more 6 of his colleagues were sent home because they had symptons. My son is vaccinated but some of his colleagues aren't and others only have one shot.
Later my husband will do his test too.
Now we just need to wait for the results, tomorrow we will have it.

I hope you will all be cleared of the virus. You wonder why they didn't test this way in the first place. Mouth and nose production pretty much come from the same source I would think.

@nela13 wish they had had it when I went to the hospital so many times.

Two of my co-workers tested positive for Covid today. Both were fully vaccinated. And unfortunately, I was in close contact with both of them. Keeping my fingers crossed that I stay healthy!

@nela13 Yes, I’ve already been sick twice with the virus. I’m hoping I can escape this round unscathed! Lol

@moffittjc I hope not. In my country there is this saying: "There are no two without three.", hopefully that won't be your case.

Let's hope he gets negative results.
I've never done a covid test because people say it's painful. But now that there is a saliva test, I might do it someday this year

This has really encouraged me to look forward for testing too especially when they start the saliva test in my country

That does sound like a much easier test than the whole nose swab. Hope those tests are negative

It is much better and easy, no pain or discomfort is involved.
Thank you.

yesh that sounds like a better test. I wouldn't want the nasal test.

How is your hubby and you are doing at the moment. I was thinking of posting it on old discussion. But since I found new one I chose to message here.
Be strong! Don't worry much on result outcome. Take enough rest and have proper diet!
Sending prayers at your end!!!
