Behind The Mask.

Since Covid 19 made its unwelcome appearance bringing death and misery to people worldwide, we have had to make many lifestyle changes. One of those being -the wearing of masks when we are out in public. couldn't help wondering if there has been any fallout in the cosmetics industry, like cosmetics sales have dropped- maybe. It is a known fact that some women do not leave their homes without a well made up face, but wearing makeup would seem pointless now when one's face is coverered with a mask. For me it would depend on where l am going, but most of the time.l would accent my eyebrows and allow my pores makeup free to breathe behind the mask Do you wear makeup.then mask up?

Yes, it seems that lipsticks sales have sharply dropped, but more women ask for eyes surgery to look younger under their mask. I wear makeup on my eyes, as I always did.

I don't wear makeup currently. I've met with ladies who have makeup and the mask is below their chin

I have seen lots of people (mostly men) wearing the mask on their chin , and that serves no purpose really.

@Kandae11 yes. It's like not wearing a mask. But in my church they make it strict that mask should cover the face. I personally I'm already used to masks

I don't wear a lot of makeup most of the time, but I wear even less with a mask.

Yes indeed. I consider it an opportunity to allow our pores to breathe.

Maybe eye make up sales have increased. I don't know. I don't wear makeup, but I do wear glasses. Wearing a mask is frustrating, as my glasses often fog up.

@Kandae11 When I take my glasses off, I can play with kids, but I can't see well enough to read a book.

That will happen, because most of the time your breath goes upwards. I agree, it is frustrating.

I used to love my lipsticks, but with the mask on, I've never needed to put any on in the past couple of years. I still do my eyes though . . . but I keep it all to a minimum. I know I haven't had to stock up on makeup in a long time!

Hmm... can I think about the question for a while before answering it? Pretty didn't bother with makeup before Covid, so sure doesn't bother with it now. (I do know there is a problem some people face since donning masks all the time when out of their homes. Maskne is a problem some men and women both face now since the rubbing of the mask on their face causes breakouts. One woman here said she'd rather her teen daughter caught Covid than have the embarrassment of acne. If the daughter wears her mask like she's supposed to, nobody can see she's broken out. People amaze me at times.) Pretty. Photo is mine.

@Kandae11 I'll tell her you said so. Thanks. Yes, I've met people here who claim they can't breathe with a mask on. I've got a video of a very pissed off doctor proving that a mask doesn't block the air flow for a normal person. (He's pissed because he had to make the video to prove it to people. He's a surgeon and said if masks stop a person from getting oxygen, then he'd be fainting at the operating table all the time.)

@DaddyEvil That is definitely true. Masks are a part of their operating apparatus. Still, it can be very uncomfortable wearing a mask for hours on end. People who must go to work or travel long distances on public transport.

Even with her mask on Pretty looks very pretty. No, l didn't think you would have a problem with makeup. Lol . The problem some people have with masks is that they find it difficult to breathe properly, especially when the mask is made out of cheap, unsuitable material.

I don't wear much makeup anyway but wouldn't use much if I was wearing a mask. I wouldn't be surprised if makeup sales have suffered lately

I wondered the same thing. Used to be I wore foundation and setting powder over it plus lipstick and blush. I also wore eye makeup but I only wear the eye makeup on since I have to wear the mask. Has saved me a lot of money not having to buy all that extra makeup to wear.
