I can't believe I have a teenager now

My daughter just turned 13 back in November, and I still cannot believe it. I know it is something I should expect, but I didn't expect for her to grow up so fast. It felt like yesterday I was carrying her around. I'm sure many other parents felt the same way when their children became teens. I think of the song "Butterfly Kisses" the moment she became a teenager. Honestly, I kind of miss the days when she was a terrible two, lol. By the way, I am not complaining about her becoming a teenager. It felt like it happened so fast. I am truly grateful that she is growing up to become a healthy young lady. But I am assuming that parenting might be a little more challenging maybe.

It also fascinates me knowing that my eldest will be turning 22 this year

@StarryCat That is right and they know that for sure. My second child is turning 21 while the youngest, my only boy is 16.

22? That is great. I'm sure your eldest will always be your baby. :-)

Parenting is an ongoing journey and every phase has new challenges. We do get some breathing space in between...I can totally relate to that feeling. Both my daughters are teenagers now and my elder one is ready to leave the nest soon by mid of this year

Oh wow. I have to be prepared for her to leave the nest in 5 years. I must be strong about this because I know that they can't stay little kids forever. Yes, you are right. Parenting is an ongoing journey with new challenges.

@StarryCat It's hard to say if we ever get prepared for that. I can see it coming but still...I know it will happen and slowly I will get used to it. That's how cycle of life goes and we have to accept it gracefully.
