Retired Washington state trooper Robert LaMay died yesterday from COVID. That isn't particularly newsworthy in and of itself. LaMay, however, went viral back in October when he retired rather than comply with Washington governor Jay Inslee's requirement that troopers be vaccinated. At the end of his final radio sign off he said that the governor "can kiss my a$$". I don't understand these people. They are literally dying to "own the libs". Well now this guy won't have an opportunity to vote against Inslee in a future election. Yup. He sure showed the governor a thing or two.

I just don't understand what people think they're gaining by refusing to get vaccinated. Taking care of their health shouldn't be something political.

Well, I guess he showed the governor, didn’t he. I have a friend sick with covid, and I’ve lost another one from covid earlier this month. Neither vaccinated. While I definitely support a person’s right to reject it (the VA can give me all the asthma medicine they want, but it’s up to me to take it to stabilize/improve my asthma, right?), I wonder about their mentality. Are they Tr*mp supporters? Well, wasn’t he the one who put the research order into action? And didn’t the vaccinations start while he was still in office? (Just for the sake of their argument, mind you.) Yep, I do understand why people would not trust the government. Ask the American Indigenous Nations about the honesty of the government. Or the Vietnam veterans who had to wait thirty years to get the government to acknowledge diseases causes by Agent Orange. Or the people in the 50s who were unwilling participants in government LSD experiments. Yes, you can get a long list of sins of the government. And that’s why I think we should give 40 lashes to EVERY politician, political commentator, You Tuber, blogger, and meme maker who has made a vaccination into a political item. It’s your HEALTH, it’s not a bleeping political statement.

That's so sad. COVID-19 is so much more serious than people give it credit for. I read about a model who had pressure build up in her legs due to COVID-19. She had to have both legs amputated.
