Day 231
Psalm 139:1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) O LORD, You have searched me, and known me.
2 You know my down-sitting and my uprising. You understand my thoughts afar off.
3 You compass my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, You know it altogether.
5 You have beset me behind and before and laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7 Whither will I go from Your Spirit? Or whither will I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there will Your hand lead me, and Your right hand will hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness will cover me; even the night will be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hides not from You; but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.
13 For You have possessed my reins; You have covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works; and that my soul knows right well.
15 My substance was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, yet being unperfect; and in Your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.
19 Surely, You will slay the wicked, O God; depart from me, therefore, ye bloody men.
20 For they speak against You wickedly, and Your enemies take Your name in vain.
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, who hate You? And am not I grieved with those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them as my enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
When was the last time you had a heart-to-heart conversation with someone? How did it go?
David had a heart-to-heart conversation with God. He knew God searched him and knew him. He admitted God knew everything about him. God knew his heart. David knew he couldn’t hide from God because God knew where to find him. He even declared he hated the same people God hated—those who took His name in vain. David called it a perfect hatred.
As Christians, how often do you have a heart-to-heart conversation with God? Do you acknowledge He knows everything about you? Do you realize you cannot hide from God? Consider the child’s game of hide and seek. You could not hide from God. In seeking Him, you would find Him right beside you. There is nowhere for you to hide or flee from His presence. He is like the basketball player who follows your every move. You cannot get away from Him. So, why do you have a hard time talking to Him? Why is prayer so hard?
In his conversation with God, David said his enemies were God’s enemies. He hated them with perfect hatred. What did David mean? Can you hate someone with perfect hatred? Yes, you can. It’s called hating the sin, but not the sinner. You know God hates sin. All sin. He never differentiated between different sins. People call them white and black. God doesn’t see sin as black and white. He sees the sin and hates it. Yet, at the same time, He loves the person. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for the whole world.
Romans 5:8 But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV)
We are all sinners. Not one of us is perfect. Yet God sent His perfect Son to die for an imperfect man so He could see us as redeemed by His Son’s blood.
God knows you. Do you know Him? Have you talked to Him recently? He’s waiting for you to open the door so He can come in and spend time with you.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and He with me.
What are you waiting for? You already have the invitation. Open the door. It’s time to have a heart-to-heart talk with God.
Let’s pray: Father, You know me. I cannot hide from You. You know my thoughts even before I know them. You know what I will do in any given situation. Help me spend time with You. It’s past time we had a heart-to-heart conversation. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Amen.
Psalms 139 is really a good chapter. Verse 12 stood out for me because darkness and light are alike to God.
Thanks for sharing revelation 3:20.
I had a heart heart conversation today with God and also with a friend.

Some of the bad things people do, they won't if they know that they will be caught. What the perpetrators don't realize -- or refuse to accept, is that eyes are watching - God's eyes. They might think they have gotten away with it - but they haven't.
As mentioned in today's message -God even knows our thoughts. We cannot escape judgement - - whether in this life or the next.
