I want to have a CHIHUAHUA

It seems like I need a new dog to make me feel new deep inside. We have a senior dog here aged 10. I was thinking to have a chihuahua that would be suitable for my taste lately. Here is the catch, I am not sure if I will choose an apple head or a deer head chihuahua. As I was looking at this photo, I am rooting for an apple head type. What do you think is best? The senior one is mixed breed. The second picture is a deer chihuahua.

Oh, ok. Now I know the difference. Here in El Paso the deer head is the more common chihuahua

We owned both types when I was growing up and both types are friendly and loving pets. (Both types are also what we call "yappy" dogs. They'll start barking at any sound or smell they don't recognize and they don't stop yapping for a long time. Their barks can be high pitched and, I guarantee, will get on your nerves if you're already tired or frustrated about something.) I'm NOT trying to talk you out of getting a new puppy. I just think you should be aware that though they're wonderful pets, they do have drawbacks. May I suggest, if there is a dog shelter in your city that has some in it, that you go, see and play with some there before making up your mind? Sometimes, it isn't the shape of the head that will attract you to a particular pet, but how the prospective pet responds to you, personally. Good luck choosing one and, when you do, please take pictures so we can see him/her, too.

I am still exploring it. I do hope I can choose the right one. Speaking of barking much will make me irritated. Perhaps a mixed one will be fine. Not sure yet though.

I'm afraid I don't like chihuahuas much. The only ones I've known have been snappy little things. But I'm sure they're not all like that.

@Shavkat The Maltese crosses are very popular here but perhaps they have too much fur to be happy in a humid climate.
