One gem I found a few months ago was the OpenStax website from Rice University. They have free college (and some high-school) textbooks which you can read online, download as PDFs, read them on your mobile device through their app, or even pay a small amount to have the printed versions delivered to you.
The books come with lots of practical exercises, review questions and a practice test for each section.
I'm currently going through their Math textbooks, just to sharpen my dumb brain lol (but also because I've only finished 6th grade. No joke. ) but they also have textbooks for Science (biology, physics etc), Social Sciences, Humanities, Business and more.
I think the number one thing I love about the era of the Internet, is this: free education. Khan Academy, EdX, Coursera, OpenStax, Alison, I love them all. Out of everything in life, I love learning the most. It never gets old and I can never run out of material.
Here's the link if you are a student or if you just want a new hobby lol. (not affiliated in any way)

So, getting to read books from a university in Texas... wow.
I've driven by Rice, nice campus. I have a friend who's folks used to live near Rice.
Am I trying to get an education online... no... I do watch some educational entertainment on YouTube but most of my online reading is fan fiction.

@healerWitch I prefer books to read regular fiction, but for fanfic, I either go to FanFiction.net or Archive of Our Own. That is where I have some my old fanfic.

Yes I'm super grateful for your universities over there.
I haven't read any fiction in a while, I'm thinking I should start, sometimes I think I could use something a little more relaxing to read.

You're welcome. I don't think there's a specific age for love or need of learning. I can easily see myself still reading and learning all sorts of things throughout all the rest of the stages of my life. And I'm glad you too are a lifelong learner.

@healerWitch There are always new things to learn. The world evolves, we must keep learning.

That's really good that you can get the free text books. They can be very expensive.

@healerWitch Never had that kind of thing in my day. Then again, I never went to university. But the internet was in its infancy when I was at school.

@sharonelton same here, and I also never went to university either and I regret it. I guess I'm trying to play catching up with education now, with all the tools available to me, although not as easy now when there are still kids in the house to raise.
